OMG this weather!

this time last year my sister stayed with me because a fire was heading straight for her place, today she is flooded in!!

sat down for a minute only to see our pool cover almost straight up in the air! ran out side to rescue it, had to get junior to help. it actually ripped dynabolts out of the concrete and snapped the reel mounting on the other side!!
got drenched, frozen, but managed to save the cover (its only 1 year old, they aint cheap!)

and now the sun is shining out there!

ugh! stay safe folks, im guessing the pool cover is only a minor blip compared to the damage this storm is doing today.

Red headed chick just sent me a TXT saying she needs a new umbrella. She got drenched in the 10 minute walk from train station to home and brolly is trashed.

Good thing we took our shade sails down for the winter, otherwise they may in another suburb by now.

Geez mum has moments when I could just blow a fuse.

Bought a kilo of bacon last week, in two half kilo sealed bags. Opened one of the bags yesterday morning (to cook her bacon and eggs for breakfast mind you) and said to her that she might want to freeze some of the open packet so it doesn't get wasted. The unopened one will last to mid November as long as we don't open it.

So this morning, what is she doing? Happily opening the unopened one to freeze it. FMD. Rolling Eyes Mad

had to seriously bite my tongue and explain patiently that she was doing the exact opposite of what I'd asked her to do.

Won't it last just as long in the freezer? I reckon it should.

It will, but the idea was to freeze the stuff in the one that was already open, not open the other one.

I may have to start a new thread, like the "shit my Dad says" site, I could do a "Shit my mum does/says.

eg, she short sheets the kitchen bins. Put the bin liner in the kitchen bin so you can take the bag out when it's full, but for some reason she puts a supermarket bag in the top meaning she's just halved the capacity of the bin. Confused

Done. I'll get around to it shortly. She does my head in sometimes.

Tonight I flicked the TV over to The Back Page on Foxtel and after a minute she asks me if the chick on the panel is Kelly underwood (??)

My response was " As I said the last 3 times you asked me that, I don't fkn know"

She's not showing any signs of alzheimer's or dementia, she's just always had a straight pipe feed from her brain to her mouth, no filters.

Horse racing season. SEN is now unlistenable and the TV sports is getting boring with crap about horse racing.
