I can't find the bugger thread so this will have to do.

Shelby's moving out tomorrow and I'm gutted. I'm not afraid to live alone (for the first time in my life), in fact I quite enjoy my own company.

But ****. I'm going to miss her so much.

baby girl grows up, can be hard. I assume she's leaving on good terms so you can tell her you'll be there for a safety net if she needs it.

Like TP said, where is she going? I left home at 19 to move from the bush to the city for work. It was hard for mum to take, (Dad was moving into my room by the time I was out of the driveway. Wink ) but there's no obvious reason springs to mind in your case unless she's just after some independance?

If that's the case, enjoy your time alone, you'll have her back within 6 months. Wink

I barely had 6 months alone after my daughter left before I moved my Mum in. Confused

She's moving to Brunswick. To a share house. With HIPSTERS!

A lot of her friends are out of home so I think that was a driving factor. Plus most of them live in the inner northern suburbs and I think Glen Iris just got too far east for her. She works about 500 metres from me in Richmond and has promised we can have dinner once a week. That's nice. Will be interesting to see how she goes. Not sure she realises how good she had it here.

I absolutely knew how good home was. So much so I never actually left. My parents broke up and Dad left when I was 13 or 14. My sister moved out when I was about 18 (oddly enough to the same street Shelby has moved). Mum then remarried and bought a farm near Kyneton. Then Dad moved back in with his girlfriend and my little sister while they were building a house. When they left Shelby's Dad moved in.

After a few years Mum wanted to subdivide and built a townhouse in the backyard so booted us out. We moved to Northcote for a year or so. Then when Mum was overseas one time I left Shelby's Dad and moved back into the house. Eventually Mum had to sell the house to get rid of us!

Why anyone would ever want to leave free living is beyond me.....

Anyway, she's all packed up and gone. I'm now doing what I do best. Wine, wine, wine.

LOL. Goodonya.

Mine went to live with their mum in their mid teens but it didn't work out that well. Daughter was smart, she moved back with me at 17 and stayed til she was 22 during which time she saved a lot of cash so when she did move out to try living with the BF she'd had for over 12 months, she had money behind her.

Living with Hipsters? Shocked She'll be back in 3 months. Razz Wink

Hypocrites. As always, hypocrites piss me off.

No one dares to post anything even slightly off topic in RIP threads, or have a not too complimentary opinion about the deceased, yet, if a whole plane goes missing and kills over 60 people, that's seemingly ok to post some crap attempt at humour.

People who use the excuse of preventing drownings as the main reason they don’t want refugees arriving here by boat when their real reason (imo) is that they are xenophobic, bigoted people who don’t want Muslims or non white people coming to "spoil" Australia and the "Lifestyle" and "Culture" we have.
Feel free to express speech and honest view about not wanting Muslims in Australia or whatever but don’t hide behind the pathetic oft repeated reason (imo) that this is all to do with preventing drownings and definitely/absolutely nothing else or no other reasons. Shocked Rolling Eyes

Bah humbug....... Evil or Very Mad Mad
