I don't much like dogs, but this is one time of year when I always feel sorry for them. Hope it finds its way back to its owner and isn't too traumatised.

It's owner needs a kick up the rse, NYE = Fireworks and everyone knows about the noise so no excuse not to have the animals inside.

I just hope he's safe. I made at least 5 more trips to the balcony, couldn't see him. I'm guessing there's dozens more. Bugger.

Yes, she does!

And I've thought that for a while.

20 min in to my treadmill run, and my phone rings- it's my friends dog. Her name is pepper, and it explains why she was trying to go back down the street, towards the crackers. I just wish I'd listened to my gut and not my head, and got in the car...

I walked the way she went, down every street, and tracked the last sighting about a Kim a way. She went down a court and didn't come out, but this was about 12.20am. It's been a while. I knocked on every door, and checked the yards of the houses no one answered. One of the owners daughters is home and she and her friends are out looking. I don't know why, but I'm gutted. I know I did more than I had to, but it wasn't enough...

This is a shit day!

Well the day finally got better. Pepper is home, exhausted but safe and unharmed.

Now I'm really ready for that drink!

Cheers, and I'll start my New Years celebrations now! Hic!

Not everyone has inside animals. My dog ;ives in the back yard, he just took himself into his kennel when the fireworks started.

For one night of the year he can deal with it. He's not an inside dog, totally unfamiliar with being in the house, the back yard is where he's comfortable.

I lost my ATM card and had little money so stayed home. There are more crackers in Thailand than Beirut. Poor little Tukky was so scared I was glad I did. I took the trouble to ask the Russians next door to let theirs off at once which they did.

Then over NYE and decide to send some of MY cash to Thailand via Western Union. DO NOT believe there website. My ex housemate goes to Aussie post in Ormond and sends me 900 odd dollars. For which I paid 60 for the privilege and got dudded on exchange rate. The banks are all closed but a few WU offices are open. So I head on a mototaxi to the nearest. Sir, must have original passport. Driver licence and copy no good. (Website says drivers licence enough)

Back home and go back. 2 more taxi trips. Sir, You must have middle name on form. Same as passport. Contact Australia. So I go to another one thinking I can get away with it. No dice.

head home, ring Australia. Ex Flatmate emails me the form which HAS included my middle name. But he rings Western Union and they add it.

6 hours after I started and 8 mototaxi trips later I get my money.

In the meantime I have rung WU, may as well have spoken to a brick wall, and emailed them twice. Their International website specifically sates only first and last name is needed and a current drivers licence is needed.

Had the banks been open I would have used Moneygram.

I have asked for an explanation but will get some crap answer. To be honest I don't care who stuffed up but they should give me back the the 60 dollars. I shall put on my Victor Meldew mask and I have the time. I will write to WU in Thailand. Australia and the USA.

If we have a banking ombudsman in Australia he is getting a letter too.

Is there any comeback if their website is inaccurate.

My Thai lady doesn't understand "why you not be patient". I would never have got it without running around.

So now I am going to a bar. They get that right here.

I hope the next plane that goes missing is a chartered WU flight and only the flight crew get out alive.

OK,

I have a 7x5 trailer stacked full 4 foot high of junk to go to the tip.

I don't have enough cash on me to take it, the eftpos machine says my account is overdrawn and internet banking is down so I can't check and top up the account. FMD. Technology is wonderful until it doesn't work. Evil or Very Mad
