My grandmother passed away this morning, at 10am, what pisses me off is that most of the family were posting on Facebook prior to most of the family even knowing. Probably would have been more considerate to let all the family know before hand.

Got a bit of a migraine and very sore neck, haven't slept well the last two nights guess it'll be easier now.

Thanks, she was 82.

I was surprised to learn she was a Collingwood supporter she never struck me as caring about the game but her family had worn the black and white of Glenorchy. She was an amazing person who raised 12 kids, with a husband that fought in the war, she later re-married as she got a divorce from my grandfather but he died from his war wounds.

Dad used to say that she would chase him and his siblings with a log of wood if they were ever backchatting and getting home late from where they were. She survived the bushfires at Dunalley, didnt lose anything thankfully.

But she was very straight forward, but also a very kind hearted soul, my sister would be taking it the hardest as she went and stayed with nan and stuff when she was younger and shared a better bond than most of her grandchildren.

She'd made time to everyone, as large as our family was.

I'm sorry to hear that - I hope she went easily and she is now at peace.

Put aside the negatives of the inevitable inconsiderate behaviour of others and remember her and the good times and although you will be sad sleep will come easier.

My sincere condolences and chin up young man!

Thanks, I spent the day with a friend who I'm hoping becomes more than that it's promising but I wasn't sure how my uncle who wasn't taking it well is handling it. Dad's coping as best as he can trying not to show his emotions.

I'd hope that we can go to the funeral and say goodbye.

No problem, I wish we had a better relationship and I knew more, this is just how my family is I suppose.

Thanks mate, yeah I am actually. It hit hard early, but I had a good distraction throughout the day. The headache most of the day helped lol.

My condolences Prototype
A man has only so many grand mothers so it's all ways hard loosing 1.

Many things are not easy to deal with.
What people say is one of the hardest because you have absolutely no way of controlling or even understanding what and why they say it.
Your fraimily was very insensitive but you have to remember they just lost a grand mother too so they were probibly a bit up set.
I'd cut anyone some slack at time like that...
...(even family members you or may not have had problems with in the past)

I've been dealing with some shyte a my own home-front...
I haven't been sleeping well either so I know the tried empty frustration you feel, particarly as you toss and turn all night chewing over problems like an old dog with dry olde bone.
I don't know you as well as some others on this site but I have read your posts for a number of years (I remember you talking about the Tassie bush-fires (amoungst other things) but I don't remember every really talking to you about anythink but I like you write any-wae.
I live in a country town that was flooded 3 years ago.
2 years ago I had a Elvis CFA water bomber using my radio tower to line up of the fire at the bottom of the hill I live on.
(I posted some photos if remember correctly)
I know the anxiety you some times feel because of I have to deal with some heavy shit in my life, just as I am sure you have.
I don't lnow how you feel about me but..
If you ever need to just talk (about anything) please send me p.m I'll give you number and I'm sure we can work out a time to do so.

Michael (a.k.a 3.sumphink or arffa.
