I've never used an iphone, to post a photo here I usually download it to the PC and shrink it there.
Don't you have some sort of file manager where you can view files and their sizes?

I think you can resize it by sending it to yourself as an email (using the 'share' function). When you do so, it gives you the option of various dimensions and sizes, so you could pick a small file size, redownload it and then try uploading that. Hopefully that works here.

I had already tried that to no avail, but the way you worded it had me try again slightly differently. It worked.
Away for a week, no access to a PC where we're staying.

50kb would make the image the size of a postage stamp.

You don't necessarily need to reduce the physical size too much to reduce the file size, just the quality and pixels.

No worries! Phones can be pretty frustrating at times when you just want to do something basic (my annoyance at the moment is trying to copy links for some reason, my Samsung phone always copies the title of the page as well, which I never want and thus have to go to the trouble of deleting it).

On the flight over here they announced that all Samsung 7s must be turned completely off, and left that way whilst on the plane, apparently they catch fire a lot!
