Some of my family finding a way to continue their petty shit even on a Facebook status about my grandmother being diagnosed with cancer. The cousins really need to grow up... The family has been divided and most have been at war for years but I would have thought they could have put it on hold while nan is very sick...

Yeah I should do that, i ignore them a lot and do not interact with anyone from my family aside from my sister outside of the parents and siblings.

Thanks Smile xxx I am not sure how long she has left, my aunt was saying that they cannot treat it to cure it so they can only put her in care so that she's at least comfortable for her final days.

If you're strong enough to just ignore the shit and still treat them like the family they are then do it. Blocking someone is IMO petty and small minded unless every post is abusive more so when it comes to family, you only have one family.

Mate, you choose your friends, you don't choose your family.

Just because they're family doesn't mean you have to like them or be nice to them.

This is true, I try and pay more attention to the good members of the family it's hard to find them. I found out I have another sister so I am going to try and build a relationship with her.

Thanks, I hope to hear more later, my aunt is driving to the hospital from Dunally tomorrow. I will be spending quality time with someone trying to take my mind off of things.

Yeah you are right, Stui, at least most of them are in Queensland now so I don't have to really see them.

Sorry to hear that - it's tough I know - but just be there for your nan she and at this time her needs and wants are what is important!

They may be your family but if they are arseholes and behaving badly then they are just arseholes not worth your time or thoughts!

Sorry but I don't get the excuses people make for shitty behaviour just cause they are family - makes em even more selfish and less worthwhile of your time cause they should understand and know better!

Just my opinion but that is the approach I have taken with some of my sorry lot of barnacles.

Thanks, I am going to try, and be there for dad as she's his mum, I am just going to try and not think about them at all. I have a beautiful distraction she's coming over tomorrow. Smile

So much pettiness by some of the family but that's their issues now just going to focus on my life and hope that maybe the doctors are wrong about nan's chances of survival. Seems like a bleak outcome though they cannot treat the cancer as it's spread so much.

Got the TV on Better homes and garden waiting for the footy to come on and see the chef bloke they have there making something he referred to as "chile con carne"

NO.

What you just cooked looked nice and tasty but it was NOT chili con carne. It was a mince meat concoction that would be nice with toast or rice for kids or people with a bland palate that think maccas sweet chili sauce is spicy.
When you go through the ingredients and say "you can even put some chili in if you like" you fail, utterly and totally fail.

Gastronomic vandal and philistine. Mad
