Good for you David.
Your right, if a job starts like this it doesn't auger well and may explain the sudden job opening you stumbled across.
You maybe unemployed again but at least you can walk away pitying the poor bugger taking your place.

Do you still want to come up and work Sunday?

David, that letter way too noble for the type of ignorant, callous scum that operate like that, but well done; it's consistent with the levels of decency we expect from you.

Or...[add other far more plausible options here which take into account internal and external factors and their persistent impact on human behaviour].

All of us are substantially trapped in behavioural patterns due to persistent social contexts and neural pathways within our brains. Most of us, like the scumbag who fired a diligent young bloke without consideration, decency or responsibility in the story above, find it very difficult change our behaviour. You just won't find an article on those behavioural problems because people have been hoodwinked into considering them "normal".

Beautiful letter. Nothing like a well written piece of correspondence Smile You certainly maintain your dignity and get across all your points, well done. I couldn't have done it without veiled snarky remarks and sarcasm Laughing

He really needs to learn to keep his hand to himself, stoping drinking might help. He's going to kill someone if he keeps it up.

Thanks guys. I found writing it to be a highly cathartic experience. That was important, because I have to drive past the damn place every time I go to the cinema! I feel like I can move on now with no regrets. Smile

That I got a new job, you mean? Alas, no. Though I do have a little bit of work to keep me going until something comes up.

If we know where you live, and the route you would take to a cinema showing weird movies, we'd know the place. Mr. Green

Good letter David. Of your suggestions, no 2 should be standard in all situations. You should never take action without giving the employee due opportunity to respond first.

The first one is basically the process for ongoing employees or people who have right to unfair dismissal. It's good practice but unlikely to be used in many places for casual or short term labour.

In regard to "nothing being seriously wrong with you", well, apart from your taste in movies, I'd have to agree. There is nothing seriously wrong with you, in fact there's nothing wrong with you at all.

Problem is, people being all different units, there doesn't need to be anything wrong with you to have someone else not like you. It's actually about them. Sometimes if you're made aware of certain seemingly (to you) innocuous behaviours or habits that may aggravate others, you can modify that behaviour. Again, it doesn't mean that it's wrong, just that it has an unintended unpleasant impact on some others.

You'll get something else, don't worry. And don't start analysing yourself for defects, there's plenty of us who can help you with that. Razz Wink

When I whinge about the bruise on my knee in 2 weeks, and can't figure out where I got it, remind me I walked into the coffee table in the dark, full pelt.

And then cos I was thinking about wether I smashed a bit more cartridge off it, I burnt my palm and 2 fingers on the meat thermometer.

I'm doing this so I remember. I had a massive bruise just above the back of my knee a couple of weeks back, junior was like shit what did u do? I have no idea and it was one of those bruises where u can't possibly forget, it musta hurt. Now I have one just above the inside of my right ankle, it's about an inch and a half diameter and it's a lump. I also have a round one on the end of my elbow, which is vaguely remember doing, cos I said a rather nasty, um Eddie word, when I did it in front of someone I shouldn't have. Can't remember who that was, or where I was, or what I hit.

Seriously if avatar was purple not blue, I could have starred. No body paint needed.

Worse, I can't remember if I was always this clumsy, or if I've got worse.

Why am I sitting on the loo stone cold sober typing this?

Hmmm, cheers, my thoughts for the day
