Surprise, surprise, question is, do the club fight it and risk making it a 2 week suspension?

head high, but elbow was tucked in and the player hit was sort of bent over.... Dunno, but to me it looked like a hit hip and shoulder worthy of a free but nothing else....

I'll say it was 50/50 mate. No way there was any malice or intent to injure, the high contact was purely accidental imo. Hard to tell with the tribunal these days which way it's going to go.

Scream blue murder anyway, it's the Collingwood way Twisted Evil

OK Leggie,

It was a good, very solid bump.
Arm tucked in, no elbow.
Upper arm/shoulder made strong contact with the head of the Swan's player who appeared to be leaning in toward Rocca at the time of impact.

Deliberate? Of course
High? Yes
Severe impact? Yes...the player was assisted off the field.
Reckless? No

One week was about right I think. It was a great bump, but unfortunately it hit another player in the head. As they keep telling us, the head is untouchable.

I fear the club will appeal and we'll end up with 2 weeks out of this.

The positive though is that the umpire standing nearby, with a good side view, awarded a free kick and no report.
The umpire thought it was high contact (free kick) but not reportable.

Expect Collingwood to appeal and call the umpire as a witness as WC did in the Judd case.

That's about as unbiased as I can ever be!

You've got to protect the head. The issue really is whether the Swan's player was falling forward at the time, so that it was his own action which led to the high contact. Could Rocca have effectively shepherded Didak without collecting the bloke's noggin? It's a 50/50 I reckon.

agree 100%

it will be much worse losing Rocca for 2 weeks, the risk isn't worth it as no one knows what the tribunal will come up with

Ben Reid deserves a game after his performance yesterday, against a young defence like Hawthorn give him a go to team up with Trav Cloke

also Rocca having a weeks rest won't hurt and should freshen him up for the run home

As stated before there was no malice just a good hip and shoulder unfortunatley got him high. The way they are ruling now the head has to be protected so I think we have to cop the week.
