I was browsing Australian IT and saw that there was a new release of Apple's browser called Safari which is compatable with the windows operating system.

It's allegedly so much faster than either IE or Firefox and is free to download.

I pulled it down to try it out. So far so good. it seems to be a little quicker than IE and doesn't have the problems I was getting with Firefox. The settings are a bit different though. Whereas Firefox operates very similar to IE (from a user perspective) Safari is a bit different.

Anyone who's interested, here's a link to the download.

i didn't realise that there was already a thread on this so i started another one, but that can be deleted. Here's what i happened to write in mine and stui, it seems we're in agreement with the firefox issues

I've just downloaded this and am currently playing with it, but already it doesn't have the bugs that I can't get rid of in Mozilla.

I'll give it a try for a week and then give my feedback on it.

Anyone else trying it or other browsers?

Giving it a go now. Though, it seems a bit slower than Firefox (for me). Video on The Age isn't working.

I'm finding the "feel" of it not as good as either IE or Firefox. Importing bookmarks is a PITA and I don't like having to hilite the browser address to overtype rather than just doubleclicking it.

Why isn't IE 7 good enough for everyone?
I love it!

Because it's a Rip-Off of FireFox and Firefox is better

I've tried a few different browsers, and IE still seems to be the best one and easiest to use.

Still, each to their own.

No, because it works. and works well.
I always seem to stumble upon people who have nothing but trouble with the alternatives. So for me, if something works, makes perfect sense to use it.

It doesn't defy the laws of physics.
