magpie joffa,i rang my mate that lives in ballarat lastnight,he said that north ballarat oval is about 10 or 15 mins away from ballarat station,and he said the price of the ticket to get from spencer to ballarat and return is roughly $13 or $14,so hopefully this is of some help to everyone that is going on saturday,go the pies..

Conductor on all V-Line trains. They normally do just one run through, so if you can time it to be in the toilet, he does not get to validate your ticket, so you get to use it on the way back. If you get away with it again, you can get a refund on the ticket.

(not that we at Nick's Collingwood Page would EVER dare to suggest that anyone do anything ILLEGAL now ... would we, Greg? ...)

But you need a ticket to begin with.

ok, everyone who wants to come to ballarat:

there's heaps of trains that go to ballarat on saturday. most of them leave at about 8am though. i found some trains that go later in the morning and throughout the day (the melbourne-bacchus march-ballarat line).

the ideal one for us would be the train that leaves spencer street at 11:17am. it gets to ballarat station at 12:50.

then another train leaves for melbourne at 6:05pm, gets back to spencer street station at 7:30pm.

these seem like the ideal times for us.

a return adult fare to ballarat will cost $31.20! crikeys.

i'll go if i'm not too hungover.

OK lets meet under the clocks at flinders st station 10.30am sharp so we will have time to get train to spencer and get the ballarat train.

Its simple if yous aint there by 10.30 am we will not be waiting
