Here I sit Looking at the hit outs stats for 3/4 time.
Mckee 4 Others 6
Porter 15 Burton 8 Others 4
Gee! We need a ruckman.
We just can't get our hands on the ball first.
Not good. We won't win many if we have to chase all the time.
I thought we have been keen on Porter for years. Wonder what has stopped us from getting him in the past.
Why did we ever chase McKee? Why have we in the past settled with second best?

don't forget Fraser!!!

remember Richards rucked for a fair chunk too, it's not all McKee's fault. and Richo did a bit (actually I thought Richo was the best of the ruckmen today!!)

We don't need a ruckman.... what we need is quality midfielders to take the ball away. Bucks, - off for a half - O'Bree, Not there, Tarks - dissapointing - Didak, Still learning.... we never had a ruckman last year.. Josh was a forward most of the time, but our boys adapted to the oppostions ruckmen and used them to our benefit.....ruckmen are over-rated.. if you have quality midfielders, then it should not matter.

We are all Collingwood supporters-- It's just the depth that varies!

Ah, ruckmen schmuckmen.

Who needs a ruckman already.

I agree, BJ. The only people who think ruckmen are important are ... er ... ruckmen. They're an endangered species. Lumbering dinosaurs from a by-gone age.

We do have a ruckman in Fraser but like most clubs we don't have two good ruckmen and if we did it would be almost impossible to keep one coz they'd leave to persue more oportunities at other clubs ie Porter and Allan at Carlton, one had to go coz you can't play both.

Fraser's no ruckman. He's too brilliant to be wasted in the ruck. Play him CHF.

Don't need a ruckman? LOL

This will kill us this year and thanks to those intrusted with recruiting players to cover key weaknesses.

A good ruckman is so important to the structure of a side. First use of the ball and now with flooding a quick kick from the center is even more important.

A good midfield will struggle to combat roving to a dominant ruckman because they come against a different ruckman each week/quarter.

It is to hard to learn the merits of these ruckman in a short space of time and thus the best bet is to develop a good ruckman.

Josh Fraser will take years of his career if he continues in the ruck.

Yeah, I agree Alf. People have to start accepting the fact the Josh will probably not spend too much time in the ruck, if he is able to contribute as a CHF.

What a dream, having a match winning CHF wearing the black and white, week in and week out.

Rule 1. Barrack for Collingwood
Rule 2. See rule 1.
Rule 3. There is no rule 3.

MACCA IS A FINE RUCKMAN

geez maybe if ppl would stop putting him down, then he mite get more confidence, and then WIN THE BALL FOR U

plus we hav benny kinnear so if u dont like macca, then they can swap benny into ruck, but then you probably won't like benny in there eitha, no matter how good a job he does FULL STOP.

Luv da 1 da only da @sh Licuria

Sorry guys, but anyone who thinks that Steve McKee is any chop whatsoever must be either
a) blind
b) ignorant
c) blind - couldn't think of anything else

We have given him a TON of time and if anything he seems to be going backwards. He rarely jumps off the ground at ruck contents for Buckley's sake! Richards is still years away of being up to this level as well so we are rooted in the ruck again this year!

I'm too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts

I suspect Alf is right, after all Brisbane played a ruckman that was just a giraffe dressed in lion's jumper last year and still won a premiership (and it was a slow giraffe at that).

Any year we beat Carlton is a good year
