Last night i had the pleasure of watching the wittiest, sharpest, and most authentic adaption of Kubric's Dr. Strangelove... in MUSICAL form! The actors were great, script was really cutting, songs were both hilarious and insightful... actually making it a musical just ramped up the absurdity that Kubric used much more subtley, and had a great effect to highlight the ridiculousness of the cold-war political mindset.
I would REALLY recommend this musical to anyone who has some interest in politics or the cold war... it was really really amazingly well-done, and an absolute piser.
PS. The film is pretty good too _________________ I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks... - Eugene Debs |

The film, as with much of Kubrick's work, was superb. Not being a fan of the musical genre myself, I'm not sure how it would translate, but I guess they're basing it on good material. Might be worth a look if it comes to Canberra _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
