Lobby Lloyd just said on Ten News that he had a heart condition and probably should have had a bypass.

Saw him a few years ago at the Myer music bowl.
He tore the fkn place down.
Will always remmber it.
Pissed off I couldn't make it to the Westernport on the weekend though.
Was told it was the loudest unplugged concert in history.
Hope he is enjoying it "Some where over the rainbow"

Ah, Thorpie ... yes ...

My best Thorpie memory was the Myponga Rock Festival (SA) 1971. The Aztecs were the last band on and I was as high as a kite. Who could ever forget the 25 minute version of "Gangster Of Love"?

Thorpie had one of the greatest rock voices of all time. And he wasn't bad on the guitar either. And he knew how to work a crowd.

Last time I saw him was when he was the pre-game entertainment at the Port V Richmond Wiz-Fiz Cup Final (whatever year that was) at Docklands.

Ahh Lobby Lloyd and the Coloured Balls..memories!

The music industry will miss Billy. I reckon he probably lived life to the fullest and maybe partied pretty hard. Good luck to him. Should be immortilised in the history books of Australian rock.

Lobby is not a well man himself apparently.

I remember a gig at Apollo Stadium in 1973 ... Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs PLUS Lobby Lloyd and the Coloured Balls. The two loudest bands in Australian rock history on the same bill. I think my ears are still ringing.
