A ralliart? Not your typical Magna there Tess.
While always a very good car you have hit the nail on the head about depreciation. Magnas just don't hold value. |

If the XR6 an average Foolcan is, then I'll be very surprised. |

On this topic, I'm on the lookout my first car at the moment. I've only got 2 and a half grand to spare (and that will have to cover rego and repairs etc), what should I be looking for? To be honest I'm more interested in practicality than glamour or technology. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Here you go David, a grand for the donkey and cart and for 15 hundred the woman will drive you around anywhere, anytime for 12 months. Now that's a bargain! |

I got my car from an Auction. It's an NA series II Fairlane (1990), in great condition, well looked after, hardly a scratch on it, duel fuel so it's cheap to run. Only $1600, some real bargains can be found.. _________________ There is just one team we favour... |

I'm not the kind of girl who drives a 4 cyl car. I had an EA before this. I ended up with the EA as a free lend, loved the economy of duel fuel and when it was time to give it back there was no way I wanted a 4.
Ironically, I'm a Holden girl born and bred. The two cars I've had have just been offers too good to refuse. Parking can be a problem, but I figure it's great knowing I can drive a car so big, I can drive anything! _________________ There is just one team we favour... |

Sounds pretty nice - I guess you've just got to know where to look.

Thanks, I'll be going shopping on Saturday with a friend, so I'll keep an eye out for some of those brands. I'm definitely thinking Ford something at the moment but I guess I'll take it as it comes. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

What sized car are you looking for? If you want a small car I'd look at a Corolla. I was in the market for one before I was offered a lend of the EA. If you want a bigger car I suggest a Falcon / Commodore on duel fuel.
If economy is your biggest priority, a duel fuel 6 is cheaper than a small 4. a full 60 litre tank of gas costs me around $25 and lasts me around a week.
Other than auctions, some wreckers sell cars bloody cheap but often need some work here and there. _________________ There is just one team we favour... |

David, an "Altise" Camry would suit as an excellent first car. Bulletproof, economical and roomy. |

Yeah, a smaller car would probably be best. Not that I'm fussed either way, I just assume it would be easier to run.
And yeah, economy has to be factored in too. Im a poor starving uni student

Cheers, I'll check it out. Do you know what sort of prices I'd be looking at second-hand? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace
