Subject: An interview with cummings.(long) from todays WA paper.
Q.Who do you love most?your wife or MM?
A.Thats a tough one,but for the sake of harmony i will say my wife, but MM shouts at me less.
Q.This is your 4th club.is dale kicketts record of 5 under threat?
A.No way, this is definately my last club.
Q.You led the goalkicking in your first year at the other 3 clubs,do you think MM is on to something?
A.Obviously he wants me to perform like i did for him in 99.
Im greatful he has faith in me.
Q.What happens after the great first year?
A.My second year at Port was the only time i slacked off,i know that.
Q.In 99 you kicked more goals than Lloyd(95 to 87).
two years later its 16 goals in 9 games and you got the flick.by your 3rd club,Why?
A.The last 2 years at Essendon i played down back a lot.
people only look at the goal tally.
At eagles i had 47 goals in 13 games in my second year then copped a groin injury and didnt play again.
last year i had an interrupted pre season and a second lot of groin surgery, then did an ankle and a knee in round 1.
my second game back from that i tore a foot muscle.
my form and confidence suffered,i didnt slacken off.
Q.The critics say you were fat and lazy, what do you say to that?
A.People jump on the weight bandwagon all the time,i have weight problems that i work hard to keep in check.
Being called those names is a complete insult from people that dont look behind the scenes.
Q.What about your clowning around in the media?
A.Thats the way i am.I was like that in 99 when i had a good year.Last year i weighed the same as when i won the coleman medal.
when you cop injury after injury its hard to keep up the workload.
Q.Were you hurt when woosha gave you the arse from the eagles.
A. I was shattered, but i dont think it was his decision alone.Im a proud west aussie,id just got married and our families are in WA.I wanted to stay at wet toast,im passionate about the club.,i wanted to help them climb the ladder.I knew i was only going to be on rookies pay plus match payments, about half what i had been getting, but i was prepared to cop that as i was out of contract and didnt have much bargaining power.
I just wanted to stay in perth,we didnt even get to talk money.
Q.Molloy,Tarrant,Rocca-- not a bad forward line.
are you going to get a game at collingwood?
A.MM has promised nothing.Ive got to impress pre season like any other new player.
Q.The old chestnut again.Fit or fat?
A.Its safe to say that working with steve smith in WA was the best decision i ever made.
Im not only fit but i have confidence in my fitness and body again.
Q.What about the magpie army?
A.The last time i played at Vic Park they threw beer cans at me,if they throw full ones this year i know im doing ok.
Q.And finally what is it like at Collingwood?
A.From the moment you walk in the door there is an aura about the place.Theres a lot of names on the wall,Millane,Coventry,Thompson,Brown.
The place is steeped in history.

Sounds like he is really switched on to do well. I hope he can translate that on to the feild. I'm excited about watching him have a good year on our forward line.

Nice one Ed, seems like Scott remembers Joffa, Alf and all fondly from his previous visit to Vic Park, or was that joff and Alfs evil twin brothers?
