Woolworths is donating its entire supermarket profits on the 23rd January 2007 to the drought relief.

So if you need to grocery shop make sure you do it on this day and help out the drought relief program.

Yes, great gesture, but if they want to do something genuinely beneficial rather than conduct a PR exercise maybe they could start paying primary producers fair prices for their product rather than using their market power to bend farmers over.

what a crock of shit i know this inside fact and i know the figures, tuesday is allways the most quietest day in the whole company so they wont have to give much away, so dont think they r giving millions away

Well the Woolworths CEO (who just may have a better knowledge of the figures than you because he knows the inside facts too!) expects the day to raise more than $3 million!!!

Sure, as others have said, they could do more but there's no gun at their head to do anything at all.

I applaud their gesture.
