At the moment i think Ryan Lonie is being played in the wrong position as a defender. The guy doesn't have many defensive skills and i think Malthouse would be better off putting him on the wing where he can show his dash and use his good foot skills to pass it into the forward line. What are other people's thoughts? |

I agree with Ryan playing more on the wing, coz his left-foot running goals are great and i woukld like to see more of them, hehe..but i also think that hes a great defender. Hes got good pace and hes tall enough to be a defender, and has ne one noticed how much hes been tackeling compared to wot he used to be like? I think hes good enough to play in da backline. but i agree with him playing more on the wing aswell!!!Luv ya Ryan

I also prefer Ryan on the wing but u cant say he doesnt have defensive skills because he does. I love his dash off half back but i think he would be more suited to the wing. _________________ Those with the most invested are the last to surrender!

He let Embly get 10 meters in front of him in the last qtr. I am a Loney fan but that is failing basic football stuff. When you don't have the ball you man up. He cost us the game in my opinion. |

Actually, he DID start on the wing (as he should EVERY week - in perfecxt range for those beautiful long bombs on the run).
As I recall, he went back onto Embley after Presti went off. It is a waste to see him play from deep in the backline. _________________ Broadie |

I agree prototype, he was a little too small for embley and he does look good on a wing. _________________ My oxygen is Collingwood. Without it I die.

I think Ryan Lonie defends ok but he could be used better on the wing or midfeld. I say this because in my opinion he's one of the best kickers of the footy in our team. Passes are spot on and his running goals are great. |
