Apparently both Lonie & Taz have grown an "inch and a half" over the off season.........hmmm I must admit my first thought about that news was "Where?"

FTO will always "Damn" Cloke and Shaw, it's normal there to slag off the young players then crow about it when they get cut from the list.
Apart from that a very good site, look for "Beheard" on the BB, if you can decipher his ravings please share them with us.

There is a training report from Annabelle on 'Extreme Black and White.'

I will post it here for you guys,
Cummings has returned.
This training report was taken from today (14th Jan)

"Back to the real stuff so I hope I can distract people from the debate surrounding social issues, relative background of players, mental toughness and so on. But just an aside, and someone made this relevant point, we have many players coming out of contract at the end of 2002 so why condemn one because he hasn't put pen to paper.

Training actually commenced at 8.am under ominously leaden skies which spilt their moisture soon into the session forcing the players to contend with a greasy ball and slighty damp surface.

Rehab group consisted of : Teakle, Lika, Ant, Freeza, Cole sporadically, Fubsy Swan and Scoots.

They mainly did sprints and reflext handball work, especially on the vertical rebounder. In a heartening sight, like Ant the other day, Lika graduated to sprinting off the straight line and based all his sprints on big deviations to test his left knee, which was supported by a bandage, in twisting motions. Ant only did straight line sprinting today but, like Lika, did do some kicking. Scotland basically sprinted for the whole session and was again filmed. Fubsy Lane ran a few laps towards the end of the session. Freeza, who merely watched proceedings on Friday is still not moving well, he jogged a lap at one stage, looks back perhaps, appears to be the worst.

It was good to see Cummings back. Apparently he had to tie some loose ends up over west. He certainly is incredibly jovial and adds something to the group; certainly brought smiles to a lot of faces on occasions.

Training was quite sharp today and quite a lot of drills appeared to centre around strategies which involved moving the ball from one end of the ground to the other with a guy crumbing or kicking for goal after running.

One drill involved Cummings or Taz leading out from the square, the runner had to hit him on the chest, and at times these two guys would feed the ball to another going past. During this drill at times Shaw, Dimmer, and Johnno made egregious errors. But Tarks and Lonie were also offenders and the latter audibly castigated himself as a pass went astray. I was sitting with Richard, who occasionally posts here and we both commented that perhaps too many passes were ending at boot-lace level. Nevertheless Cummings at times neatly picked these grubbers up to the acclamation of whichever coach was in closest proximity to him. He also won the plaudits of his teammates in this regard.

They then varied the drill, moving the rebounders close to the goalsquare and the were meant to crumb off these and shoot for goal. Some performed very well but there were also some weak hands in evidence. Noticed that Andrew Hill mark II is quite often sloppy with his marking. But even guys like Molly were guilty of rubber chests on occasions. Dimmer certainly dropped a Bill Lawry sitter under no pressure at one stage. I suppose the greasy conditions contributed to some errors and in some ways contending with these may stand us in good stead for when the weather is less than propitious. On the whole the marking was pretty good and passing reasonably sharp. The leading from Cummings and Taz was also quite good and it's probable that with practice they will become more adept at hitting the mark.

In terms of crispness, Chipper, Didak and Boofa stood out. Didak's skills are really silky and it's not surprising that Uncle Buck is suggesting that he will spend little time at Willi. Chipper's running, kicking and hands were impressive. Boofa looked decidedly sharp given that it was his first session back with the main group. The recently maligned one completed about half the session and then ran laps where half was sprinted for quite a while in an attempt to improve his aerobic capacity, with the fitness guy who won the 3.5 k run the other day. He did work very hard.

Halfway through the session Davidson appeared to grab his right thigh and retreated to the rooms with the head doctor. He later re-appeared but was confined to the rehab activities.

Very late in the session, Scotty Burns who had been training very well, left the arena, accompanied by Paul Blackman.

Before the final drill Clement, Richo and Cummings all left which decimated our big man department somewhat.

Cole spent the whole session either sprinting with the fitness guys or walking laps bouncing a ball. He did spend long periods in the sanctuary of the rooms as well.

Richards was back training with the main group and looked all right. His skills aren't bad for a big guy. The strange thing though is that Stunning's skills didn't pale in comparison with some of his more nimble teammates. Pity he can't ruck or make adequate decisions most of the time.

Cheesy O'Bree left the ground about twenty minutes or so before the rest of his teammates, but like Burns seemed to moving all right. As mentioned the other day it is apparent that the fitness guys err on the side of caution before a niggle turns into a tear perhaps, or something major. Players seem to be given licence to cease an activity or leave the field if they feel something is not quite right.

The penultimate drill involved pairs of one on one whereby the guy in front was meant to take the mark but the guy behind put lots of pressure on him. It was about body positioning and watched closely by the coaching staff. I focussed on the group which was overseen by MM. Johnno and Molly had a really spirited duel which was won by the latter, much to the chagrin of Ben. Presti clearly outpointed Walker on most occasions and MM did appear to have a word to Tristen after he gave away a blatant push in the back to Presti. Lonie and Andrew Hill markI also had a closely fought duel with both winning their fair share of battles. As mentioned previously one can't help but notice how much Lonie appears to have developed during the off-season. He is a very strong looking 19 year old. Kinnear was also pitted against Walker and Hill and did all right. He must have had a niggle or something because he spent some time towards the end of the session doing some relex work on the rebounder.

Taz who was well concealed under hat, leggings, and shorts also did a bit of work on the rebounder towards the end of the session with Laidley.

Laidley actually directs and explains all drills. Broadbridge, who is the forward coach spends a bit of time with these players, especially Molly. Gotch was again head matron of the infirmary. Fletcher made his first appearance as development coach, and stayed on the ground after everyone else had retreated with Gotch to do some specialist work with Cloke's kicking. From what I saw during the session it was not as bad as what some people have been touting.

The final drill was basic goal-kicking practice which was completed with, as usual, mixed success for most players. Even Tarks kicked some well off the side of the boot. There will be more of this as the season proper draws nearer, as during training sessions when the seasons is in progress, a lot of time is devoted to goalkicking practice, especially obviously by the forwards.

Wakes only completed some of the session; appeared to be off and on a bit. Posiadly moved quite well, but Crow who retreated to the rebounder towards the end looks a bit on the skinny side.

On the trivia front, Shaw looks to have re-touched his hair with that same violet colour and Rogan's hair looks even thinner. First time Boofa was seen without his cap which he wears Hewitt style, and he's definitly au naturel again which is quite dark.

Bucks was as always, a stand-out, in terms of keeness, inspiration, and generally skills. But then again we all know he can play just a little bit".
