not sure Rudd and Gillard are the right mix, but yes Beazley doesn't have the support of the Australian People.

Can anyone honestly see Kevin Rudd as our PM?

I'm sure the same was once asked about John Howard.

Kevin Rudd won the ballot.

Jenny Macklin didn't contest the deputy's position. Julia Gillard won, unopposed.

A sad day all round for Beazley, his brother passed away over night, or today, not sure when.

This whole situation is ridiculous.... we all knew that Labor were crazy when they reinstated Beazley in the first place, and it's as if in the lead up to the next election this has suddenly dawned on them. They've panicked, and gone for the next best option, who isn't actually that great. Bloody hell, even Peter Costello could beat these guys at the moment, and John Howard's a shoe-in.

Beazley was never meant to hang around till the next election. He was re-appointed leader to reduce the gap between Labor and Liberal, and he did a good job at that too. It was always going to be either Rudd or Smith or Swan that would lead Labor into the next election.

Most certainly. I remember plenty of people saying the same thing when Howard was reappointed leader.

You should look at a pre-Prime Minister picture of Howard if you want to see something strange. Oh those eyebrows!
