North Korea have now officially tested a nuclear bomb. What's next? How will the world react to this? |

Can't see anything on the web.
They do seem like they're getting ready for one though so maybe the journo's are just slow to respond... _________________ I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks... - Eugene Debs |

Interesting to see that the following article is from the French Press.

US detects second N Korea 'blast'
From correspondents in Washington
October 10, 2006 03:11am
Article from: Agence France-Presse
US intelligence has detected an explosion of less than one kilotonne in magnitude in North Korea but has not been able to determine whether it was nuclear or not, a senior intelligence official said.
The official, who asked not to be identified, said that first-time nuclear tests historically have been in the several kilotonne range.
“We are aware that there was a sub-kilotonne explosion in North Korea,” said the official. “We have not been able to determine at this point whether it was in fact nuclear. _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

I wonder what the world would be like if all military weapons suddenly vanished.

frankiboy, a different time, and certainly different circumstances. What else do you want them to do? Invade Japan on foot, and risk hundreds of thousands of lives of the Allies? I think not. I'm sorry if I have taken your comments the wrong way, but geez what else did you want the US to do? |

Joel Japan wanted to surrender months before that... The only condition was that Emperor Hirohito keeps his position as figurehead of the Japanese State. The US refused this condition and thus the war continued, and thousands of people died for nothing.
Check your history books before parrotting the view of the victors. _________________ I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks... - Eugene Debs |

Are you a man or a woman? In the context of [quotefrankiboy]Hmm, I don't understand "Nth Korea test their nuclear bomb underground. " That remark was either too complex or too simple for me. We were talking about Nth Korea test their nuclear bomb underground. |
