Gee, that's very clever of you...seeing it didn't happen til after 11AM.

Perhaps you could give us next week's Lotto numbers a few hours ahead of time!!

It was printed on the news at around 2pm. As I said before, I have a family member who used to work for Australia Zoo who rang me and told me of the news, at around 11:45. I posted a typo obviously.

*Edit - thanks for the PM Pica*

It wasn't until I was on my way back in New Zealand that I read of Irwin's murder. That was 2 in the afternoon the next day New Zealand time, but already the papers had the entire history of an unknown 24-year-old man, Oswald -- a studio picture, detailed biographical data, Russian information -- and were pretty sure of the fact he'd killed Irwin alone, although it took them four more hours to charge him with the murder in Texas. It felt as if, well, a cover story was being put out like we would in a black op.

so the times people heard about all this is the important fact here, not the fact that he's dead.

strange.

Police have confirmed they have viewed film of the incident taken by Steve's photographer who was filming at the time for a documentary.
He did not aggravate the stingray in any way he simply swam over it as I am sure he has done many times before and this was just a freak accident.

my movie book reckons I should see JFK before I die... still there's a whole lot of other films that I'm more keen to see right now Wink
I wonder how much truth there is to those old conspiracy theories... while I'm sure some are true, I think that you can prove anything if you want to believe it, and there is a convincing argument out there for everything. Now I'm off to "the island" to party with Elvis Laughing

I reckon it was the Greens that did it ... especially after the bollocking that Irwin gave Bob Brown for his verbal assault on GWB in the Australian parliament ... stingray, my arse ... he was stabbed by a drug-crazed dole-bludging left-wing paedophilic homosexual tree-hugger.

The worst part of it (from a broader POV) is that the Australia Zoo which does a lot of good work (as all zoos do) will lose significant tourism and funds as a result.

RIP

It's all sorted. I made a typo, because I was on another forum at the same time as posting this. Got a bit lost.

My father knew Steve quite well through Wildlife Warriors and a relative of mine used to work for Australia Zoo. My dad is absolutely devestated (just like everyone else!).

They will be having a state funeral for Steve, next week I think it is.
