Just saw a news flash, didn't get the full detail but I gathered he was attacked by a sting ray.
For those of you who don't know who Steve Irwin is, he's the world famous oz Crocodile Hunter on tv

Unbelievable, I loved the guy and the way he went about his work, a real true blue Aussie character. Very very sad, My thoughts go out to his family and loved ones

Unbelievable alright, after everything else hes done, he dies like that.
Never been a massive fan but certainely a lot of people enjoyed his ways.
Very sad, all the best to his family.

Considering some of the dangerous situations he put himself in, he was always risking his life to some extent. Sad to hear but I guess his death is no more momentous than the death of any other human being.

The story from Qld police was that he was some distance off shore around the Port Douglas area doing a doco for Queensland Gov't,his wife is in Cradle Mountain in Tas,he was attempting to ride a 'ray' and the ray retailiated and the barb wnt thru his heart and he went into cardiac arrest.A wildlife fellow in Qld says that this is a one in a million attact and that the ray was aggravated?????

There is a big story at present on Sky News Australia concerning it......

I heard about this early this morning. I'm so sad to hear about it, and my dad is devestated to hear it from the news as he had known Steve for quite a few years.

Rest In Peace mate...you're in a better place now. I just hope someone can continue your legacy and help make the environment much safer.

my little niece and nephew will be shattered. They would go to his Zoo at least once or twice a month. They live up there and they go all the time. She goes to school with Bindi.

It is very sad indeed. The day i went to the aust zoo i saw him out on his motorbike with Bob sitting up there with him.
