I know absolutely nothing bout horses and dont pretend to. So just basing my tips on the good doctors guide and the fact that i like to see the experts try and make excuses when the favourites lose i'm going for:
1. rain gauge
2. rum
3. karasi

Good guide Alf.
But after rating the internationals, you did not even put one in your top three. I have a top four, and always include the best of the internationals.
This year I went with Persian Punch, Sky Heights, Ethereal and Spirit of Westbury. First and third got me in front, but does not make a quinella let alone the trifecta.
On the radio (927) on Tuesday morning, one of the experts said he was going to have a boxed trifecta centring on the international horses. I think a lot of smart people got on the internationals in the trifecta, because I thought the dividend was pretty crappy considering a 9-1 chance ran 1st a 40-1 long shot got second and a 16-1 ran third. I would have expected 20K at least.
Anyway it is all fun, and at least I did not lose any money.
