Interesting that Richards is named on the interchange for Willi but listed as an emergency for the seniors. Unsure what Pendlebury did to warrant being dropped.

Richards is obviously not good enough for Willy (After all FANNING is their first ruck!) so they might as well play him with the Collingwood seniors..... Twisted Evil

not the players we needed to see in the best.

Fanning had to step up.

JA had an opportunity to knock Maxy out of the side.

Anyone know how Fanning and Anthony went, those two would be closest to selection given what we need at the moment?

How did Richards play? Good to see that Pendles took his demotion well.

If the AFL are true to their word and allow clubs to add an older rookie in '07, I reckon, by all accounts, Heath Lawry'd be a decent chance.

Fanning shared the rucking with Richards... except in the last quarter [when Fanning went to full forward], they alternated about 1/2 a quarter on the pine. Fanning kicked a goal, gave one off and took a few good marks. Guy worked solidly. Couldn't say either was over impressive, as the opposition was pretty ordinary. I reckon it would be hard adjusting to a game when you spend 1/2 the time out of it, sitting in the cold. I didn't see MM or any senior players there... David Cloke attended on his own [not with the usual clan].

yeah Pendles will probably have warranted a return for next week, while maybe Yakka or Rowe will get another go. Luke, agreed on Lawry, after all it worked with Mahoney. Maybe we could even take him in the Pre Season draft. While there will be those who would be reluctant to consider it, think of it this way. Lawry gets in the best week in week out at Williamstown, whereas we have players on our senior list who don't when they are demoted. Obviously AFL is a step up, but players like Mahoney (and he is not the only case I'm pretty sure) have shown it's possible.

Might have been because the usual clan along with Mick and the players were in Adelaide Wink

Typical they play their best game of the year whilst in Adelaide, oh well they had to win and win well to make the top 4 due to the bye next week, looks like a 1st final at Preston is on the cards now

Carn, any extended reports from someone who attended the game?

Looks like ILes (will be a good player), Egan, Harry and Wakes are possible candidates for demotion. And posssibly Maxwell although I'd give another week to paly back into9 form. Harry definitely of course.
I wouldn't drop egan since he adds potency and x factor to the midfield, which we are a bit short of. Never know when he might really turn it on.

Possible elevations seem to be: Yakka, pendles, anthony, rowe and Fanning or Richards.

I hope Pendles was only played for about half the game to give him a rest.

gotta give one of the ruckmen another try and I think give Josh a week's rest b4 the finals.
ANthony for Harry?

For mine next week, elevate Pendles, yakka, FAnning/Richards (dep on who looked the best) and maybe Anthony.
Out: Harry, wakes for a rest, Iles and maybe Josh for a rest - he's looking jaded.

is an interesting topic on Fraser, bokka

would love to see Fraser get a rest, but is he too valuable to rest at such a must win time of the season...

one would think cam cloke would get the gig if he wasnt injured
