You're right Cam.
Never mind, I saw the episode of the Simpsons during the week where you and Homer swapped wives. Don't worry that your missus ran off with Marges gay sister, she was a skank anyway _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Someone started a thread against a particular poster the other day and it seemed to be deleted.
I'll say the same thing I said there , the poster has clearly been banned a couple of times before , but the moderators seem happy for him to post now. _________________ "Are you an angry man? the general advice seems to be to ignore them, but that is somewhat unsatisfying as in a way you are now oblivious to some of the stuff that's going on on the board. It would be perfect though if absolutely everyone ignored them. Having no-one to talk to, presumably they would go away
BTW I've only ever put one poster on ignore (that pathetic low-life wanker) and while it was relieving in a way it was still frustrating because it seemed like people were talking to themselves and stuff _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

just ban the pests. Or ignore them, it's simpler I guess. |
no good ignoring them David, remember, they change their identify every few weeks, sometimes even days. _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

He has been banned a few times, that pathetic low-life wanker doesn't get the point, you are banned you should stay gone. Hell even Bigfooty and other boards have banned the fool. Once Magpie Greg was removed he's grown even more retarded.
And even more annoying there seems to be no way to remove the pest.

They have banned him, and have tried to rid the board of him, he comes back, and there seems to be no way of completely removing him, they could IP ban him, but if you use dialup it's a waste of time. _________________ Đavâgé

"" should keep of the spammers off the board but if they do happen to get any misuse of the board can then be reported by the mods to that person's ISP ? Makes sense to me. |

Been done, for several years actually. The list of banned webmail/email providers is at least 100 entries long.... and growing all the time ...unfortunately, blanket banning IP's like optus or bigpond etc would mean no one can register! Some people have emailed me to get around the ban on hotmail, for example. I wouldn't want to do that every time someone wanted to register.
In regards to your original point Cam, I'd say it's preferable to moderate the behaviour rather than enforce rules via knuckle rapping etc. If you feel someone is overstepping the bounds, report it. We may not agree with you, but that's the system we got.
Best thing with regard to improving the atmosphere on the board is for the boys to have a win. At least we've managed that this week! |

Yup, someone emailed me, said they only had a hotmail account and asked to be registered, I did it, and the poster has been here for 2 or 3 years now. What's the big deal? It's been run past the other mods, they had no problem with it. If the poster turned out to be a dickhead, bang bang, they're dead. |

LD it was a bit of humour, boredom etc to see what people would post, using some creativity instead of 'Time to go Morrison', 'Sack MM' or 'Should we get Jade Rawlings'. Sometimes I wonder why on earth I bother, but I'm not having a crack at you Talbot Dave, believe me. _________________ Get back on top. |
