Terry Wallace said he was pretty disgusted that certain Collingwood fans were calling Newman 'soft' and 'weak'. Pretty dissapointing if that's the case.

I'm sure they said this when seeing him go down from the distance of the grandstands. Supporters of all teams yell those comments every game when an opposition player goes down after contact.

Obviously people wouldn't call him soft after they knew he had a broken leg.

I can tell you from where I was sitting on Level 2 of the Ponsford and what I saw around me, throughout the cheersquad and also in the Southern stand, EVERYONE was clapping him as they took him from the field.

Nobody likes to see a player injured like that. At least the game bloody stopped for him, didn't stop for Caracella did it.

I'd like Wallace to point out the area of where these people were. He walked through the Ponsford Stand before the game and I can tell you, it wasn't there!

Wallace can go and get stuffed or prove it.

Well i dont know about anyone else, but i wish the best of luck to Newman in his recovery. I actually think he is a very honest player who seems to do his job week in week out. But if there were fans yelling abuse at Newman, then Wallace is justified in his comments. BUt you have to consider that every club has its ferrals. Considering we have a huge support group, of course we are going to have a fair few. HOwever i would say on whole that most people acknowledge it was a tragic incident and best of luck in recovery

Never in the history of football, is there a more hypocritical bunch of supporters than Richmond supporters. Richmond supporters spent the whole game calling our players weak.

Terry Wallace should look at the video footage. As Newman was being taken from the film every Collingwood supporter that came into view was standing and applauding. There may well have been a couple of idiots that spoke out of turn, every club has them, but the overwhelming majority acknowledged Newman's injury.
