I see nothing in today's society, and in my life, that would prove their is an existence of "god". While as you said there maybe no evidence to prove either side of the argument, I am generalising but I feel it is nothing but a pure myth.

Certainly as the church defines god he is a myth, but if god is thought of as all there is, (ie: existence itself) then an understanding can be sought. Esoteric wisdom teaches that god is pure living mind, that all is mental energy, the universe is an expression of the absolutes self awareness, in other words we are all thoughts inside the mind of god

Surely though this sort of thinking is no more conjecture than belief in a Christian God. It just sounds like a different view, with absolutely no proof behind it.

Not quite David, certainly with these subjects empirical science cannot help, the very nature of mind and spirit means it cannot be measured and tested, however, unlike dogma there is a method to if not test at least experience what I've said, albeit a long and difficult one.
If you meditate for many years and hone your mind to the degree of a master you will experience that oneness and identify with the universal living mind, the proof will then be as they say in the eating
And I might add that every person who has followed that path has given the same account, there is no contradiction among even different forms of mysticism
