a great story?? the lack of correct safety procedures almost killed 2 people, yeah real great story.
Its been well documented by alot of people that the mine was not correctly regulated, if it was they would not of been trapped, and NONE of this would of happend. So in your eyes there hero's for being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

You may it sound as though it was the miners fault. If you used your brain, you would realise that Mining is one of the only main industries as to why Beaconsfield is still a town. I have family that live there that also work in the mines, so to say that the two rescued miners are selfish morons etc is absurd to be honest.
If someone wanted to offer me money to support my family in such a small town, and to help others for the rest of my life, I'd jump at the chance too. The family of the deceased miner asked to be left in peace and requested for his death not to be made out to a big story - surprisingly the media did exactly that.
People such as Tracy Grimshaw, who jump at the chance to make a story out of an exclusive interview out of someones trauma disgust me when they land themselves on the front page of magazines saying "How Beaconsfield Changed Me". Just another way to get their popularity up as far as I am concerned - no one gives a hoot how it changes a reporter, it changed a lot of people!
In the end, if I went through something that traumatic, I would have to retire early. My aunty had a gun held to her 8 years ago, and still has not been able to return to work. Different situation, but still trauma. I would jump at any chance to cash in on it so support my family, and I'm sure if money became an issue to you, you would too. |

If I could get slammed from behind by one of the most powerful people in the world, I'd probably bend over willingly. Oh dear, are you going to now tell us that we are the reason why there are starving children in Africa, and why Oprah got to cash in big time on the Hurricane Katrina Disaster.

you realise now anything you say has little credibility.
Therefore that comment makes Howard look better if anything 
By the way, I'm not going to be so arrogant as to suggest that people aren't allowed to have an opinion, but woody I do find yours difficult to stomach, on the miners issue. I think the majority would agree.
