We all know the story im sure

The poor guys trapped in a mine and were rescued after i think over a week in tasmania.
I have no problem with that at all

But i think its absolutely disgusting and disgraceful that there going to america to go on these talk shows and even talk about making a movie!!

Think of all that money that there going to get out of this.
And yes i know they have bad injuries and may never work again, but they have COMPO that will pay out BIGTIME!!

i think they should of left them down the mine the selfish bastards!!!

don't agree with you one bit and obviously not everyone knows all about them because even you don't know the facts

THEY WERE DOWN THE MINE FOR 14 NIGHTS....not, as you put it, rescued after a week.. They weren't even found for 5 days!

People want to hear their stories, that's why they are paying them for it. It's a great story of mateship, drama, rescue, sadness.

Channel 9 and Eddie actually did a hatchet job of their chance I think. The Yanks are happy to pay the money.

Did you feel the same way about Stuart Diver? They made a Tv movie about him.

I think your last comment is quite disgusting. How bout you go down there for 15 days and tell us what it's like.

i can see you have no idea what your talking about AGAIN

so because its 14 days and not a week its ok for them to get rich and famous over it???

a great story?? the lack of correct safety procedures almost killed 2 people, yeah real great story.
Its been well documented by alot of people that the mine was not correctly regulated, if it was they would not of been trapped, and NONE of this would of happend. So in your eyes there hero's for being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

{SNIP}Let's leave the personal abuse out of it BBMODS
you americanized bastard!

EDIT: and stuart divers was a NATURAL disaster, it was not caused by irresponsibility!

I still think that the rescuers should be given some credit and some acknowledgements, they did risk they lives to save these guys and if it wasn't for them they would still be in the mine.

If they can make a buck out of it, let em. At least it's them making the dough.

You got any links to prove this failure of safety regs?

the bit I've read over here and heard on radio news is they've always given credit to the rescue teams. My recollection may not be 100% correct here, but I do recall the two rescued miners giving all kudos to the rescue teams.

I never called them heroes, the heroes are those that rescued them and if you actually knew me, you would realise that i am actually a unionist and a trained Occupational Health and Safety Rep.

These men, through no fault of their own were trapped down there for 14 days, and yet you are the one who says:

And it's not the fault of the 3 miners who were trapped (one who died) that they were trapped in the mine. Agree it wasn't Stuart's fault either.

Yeah, I'm disgusted with them. How dare they stay underground nearly a kilometer for two whole weeks. How dare they lay buried under rocks in that the cage. How dare they stay in a position of not knowing if they would be found alive for 5-6 days.

Absolutley bloody disgusting. The selfish bastards need to take a good hard look at themselves and understand that being a victim is not all it's cracked up to be.

Good on ya Woodys_world for pointing this out to us Wink

I'm not disgusted, but I'm not exactly jumping for joy for them, good on them they did well, but they are trained for it, it's not as if they were starved of food or water. If I was told to stay down there for 2 weeks and come out wth over a $million I'd do it.

What lit your wick woody?

You know, I reckon if you were stuck down there they would try to rescue you too - can't for the life of me understand why, but I reckon they would. And you'd be famous when you came out.

I reckon you ought to go and find yourself a hole somewhere and try it out.
