Mick Malthouse has given away the pies secret to success against the hapless Blues yesterday.
“We adopted an approach at training during the week that matched the intensity and hard work that the Carlton side has.”
The secret to success was orange witches hats.
“The witches hats were fantastic, we positioned them in a way that matched the blues set up and believe me, the intensity from the witches hats was very Carlton-like, particularly in the second half.”
Denis Pagan responded to this in a very diplomatic way, “They nailed us. I can’t believe that they would think of such an option, but to Mick’s credit, the witch hat thing was a master stroke.”
Asked whether he was inclined to utilize the same training tactics, Pagan stated, “I don’t think so, I wouldn’t like to match game-day intensity during training. Besides, we aren’t quite up to the witches hats standard yet.”
