Funny how our resident religious zealots, of all persuasions, suddenly lose the ability to type.

Justify your god(s) intentions on this subject.

Mummy, why does God let bad things happen?
Well bad things certainly do happen. We've established that. Maybe God (if it exists) is not a nice guy who tries to make sure that everything works out all the time, and no-one ever gets hurt.

Very sad indeed.

So I don't have to answer your question, because I don't have a god. End of story.
I was just making an observation of what you are trying to do. Ie- stir the pot. Laughing

Fair enough mate. My apologies and good to see you have made the right life decision!

As for "stirring the pot", well I suppose there is truth in that. But I do like to see the squirming and lame excuses made in these situations. Truly indefensible, but plenty will try to.

PP, you don't think that an innocent being so badly treated by "god" requires an explanation?
Hell, even her father said "I must have done something wrong in the past". Even he is questioning his faith and rightly so.

It's a pity you think that we have forgotten her in all this, just because we have not typed our personal feelings. I can assure you that none of us have.

She seems a be a great fighter with tremendous spirit. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Couldnt agree more PP, reference elderly drivers. There should be mandatory testing for drivers over the age of 65-70 ish. eg. eyesight, re-action times etc. Not a harsh policy, imo, but one which would save lives!

Im glad you mentioned it. Dont forget eunos, you also are a religious zealot for athieism. I cant tell how glad I was to hear that these people are in fact bible believing christians. Im so encouraged by their incredible faith and trusting in God in light of the horrible things that have befallen their lovely daughter. It is just a real testament to the power of faith how these people have remained so strong. You blame God eunos for something a man has done. Some old guy drives onto a crossing and thats Gods fault.....funny that.

Sophie you get well and strong little girl. Your a true Aussie hero. Blessing and prayers with the family.

Eunos, I didn't even bring faith (or lack of) into the story.

It just seemed to be going onto another religious debate, when i believe this time it should have stayed on topic.

HAL! Surprised
heartless robot

hope she's alright btw... I take it she has suffered some pretty serious injuries, is there a chance she'll get back to 100% in the future? Sorry I didn't really read much about the story...

no David, she will never be 100%

She lost her legs, most of her right hand, hair and burns to most of her body in the original accident 3 years ago

But she has incredible tenacity

She will never be 100% but she is one tough little girl, her life has already had two tragic events occur to her, for someone so young to fight and beat them both is just a miracle, I wish her and her family all the best in yet another recovery process, and that she can hopefully now go on and lead a happy and uneventful life.
