With Essendon, Hawthorn, Brisbane and Richmond now the only teams left, I am officially naming the 2001 Premiership:

The "I-COULDN'T-GIVE-A-STUFF CUP"

The bloke next door is painting his fence on Grand Final Day. I might go and watch it dry.

Hey Nick,

When the finals started I was hoping for a Crows-Port final, because I didn't want to have to put up with all the celebrating locals if a Victorian club won it. I also knew that if Brisbane won it we'd get all the Fitzroy barrackers claiming it as theirs and if Sydney won it all the the South Melbourne barrackers would have come out of the cemetary to celebrate. So really, Port and the Crows were the only two genuinely non-Victorian clubs in the eight. Now they're both gone. I can't afford to go overseas, so I'm gunna be stuck with rampaging Essendon, Hawthorn, Richmond or Fitzroy barrackers gloating their arses off ... and it ain't gunna be pretty.

You're all right. You won't have to worry about anything up your way. Even if Brisbane win it, no-one in Queensland gives a rat's arse anyway.

Unfortunately I'm in a no-win situation. I s'pose it won't matter ... as long as I don't turn on the TV, or go on the internet, or go out of the house ...

Ah, bugger it ...

Alf I am now a bit confused.I wanted port to win
too.
I thought port would bolt in and watched it not happen,how the umpires gave rehn free kicks at boundary throw ins is beyond me as he is the one doing the holding,and the replays showed he had his hands around primus neck and for that rehn got the free?3 times.
but they were intense the hawks and will go out next week to a 20 goal thrashing by essendon who will not put up with that crap.

I have a bit of sentiment for those old fitzroy fans who may be 50 years old or more and never seen a lion flag, i know what a 32 year wait is like,so i hope brisbane win it.

way to go Richmond for beating Carlton!!!!!! I am not a bandwagon person but it gives me so much pleasure to see those Carlton supporters have their smiles wiped of their faces,now god help me if Essendon don't beat Hawthorn, I will think it was rigged for if the Hawks beat the Dons, I will absolutly HATE IT!!

I don't care that much who wins but there is a Collingwood connection with Brisbane and Hawthorn. Brisbane: Mathews, Mal Michael, Andrew Ireland and Starcs is the runner. Hawthorn have Tony Woods.
