ok, I'm a bit torrent user here is some advise.
I use bit comet client, really easy to setup and use.
the torrent sites i use are www.torrentspy.com www.mininova.org www.torrentreactor.net
to get the best results choose the torrents with the most seeds (people -with 100% of the file that are sharing) I have been skrewed before when all the peers dropped off and there was about 300 peers that could not get the rest of the file. Also it works faster the more seeds there are and also the more you upload.
Recently via torrents I have seen:
seasons 1 and 2 of Entourage (i highly recommend this show)
1 and half way through season 2 of Prison Break (once again highly recommended)
Family guy season 5
Southpark season 9
American dad seasons 1 and 2
Firefly (series that spawned the movie Serenity)
Veronica Mars season 2
etc...... |

...and you think for yourself?
I guess just because people watch TV they can't think for themselves. Yeah, that logic makes sense. |

hmmmm, mags looks to have found some good weed lately...........
I use BitComet, my d/l speed seems to top out at about 100kb/s, I read somewhere that torrents use a ticket system, the longer you are connected and the more you share the more tickets you recieve, more tickets more bandwidth.
I like http://torrentspy.com/ because it has a browserble index, searching is lame
can't find many footy clips on torrents _________________ Pain heals, Chicks dig scars, Glory..... lasts forever! |

I had a go at it, using Azureus. Works well. Didn't take too long to download a 1.4gb file (a few hours...not too bad). |

Thought I'd add a few of my own tips.
Been using utorrent for a couple of years and its awesome. I don't think it matters what client you use however just the quality of your torrent file.
I find it best to download at night when the europeans and americans come on board. Its also allows you to use your off peak bandwidth this way and so double your downloads on most plans. utorrent allows you to schedule it to start after midnight but I'm sure most of the others do also. It also allows you to see what country your downloading from which is cool when your bored.
Favourite search engine is isohunt.com and torrenttyphoon.com but there are loads.
Yes most torrent clients speed up the longer your on line because it it tracks more seeds. utorrent cycles every 20 mins or so through loads of sites finding them.
As for the stoner...the comment of not sharing his download secrets is as intelligent as most of his other arguments. The more people online leeching and seeding, the better it is for everybody. |

BlackWhite (no not a joke Joel, but a program where a white family is made up as black and vise versa. The transformations are stunning. Very enlightening.)
Doctor Who (Just started series 2. Excellent)
Life On Mars (A British cop show with a difference. Excellent 8 eps only though)
Hogans Heroes series 1. (oldie, but goodie!) |
