Introducing The SA Magpies

[SA Magpies]

Here it is - introducing the new Collingwood Football Club Supporters Group based in Adelaide called the "SA Magpies"!

With support from Bree Hitches at CFC, we have spent several months establishing the platform to launch the "SA Magpies".

All Collingwood supporters are equally welcome to join the SA Magpies - CFC members & non-members, male & female, young & old.

Members will receive a member’s key ring, access to all supporter group functions, information from the club, the opportunity to win Collingwood memorabilia, access to AAMI Stadium tickets when Collingwood plays (twice this year), food and drink specials, subsidised merchandise, competitions, newsletters, sponsor benefits and more!

All these benefits are great ..... but our main aim is to generate a welcoming and enjoyable environment that drips with Black-and-White passion each game day.

We also plan to co-ordinate interstate trip(s) to see our team in action, invite other Groups to join us and arrange other functions, competitions and activities (that also include the kids) throughout the year.

Our base is the Glenelg Jetty Hotel where we have prepared for our first
function early in 2006.

We are just now finalising an "Introductory Letter" and "Membership Application Form" with all the necessary details. Bree will distribute these to each of the >1,000 Supporters / Members on the CFC database for South Australia.

The letter and form will also be posted on this forum as attachments for users to access.

Please stay tuned for these attachments that we hope will be posted in the next day or so.

We are born and bred Collingwood supporters from Victoria who have enjoyed living in Adelaide for a number of years.

I'm from a small country town called Dunolly (where I notice Cam has as his location) and Mick is from Bairnsdale.

We're both Collingwood Social Club Members.

However, this makes no difference. What other Victorian Collingwood supporters need to accept is there are many Interstate Collingwood supporters who are from Vic/SA/wherever that bleed the same as black-and-white as you and I.

In fact, speaking from experience, it is much easier to fly the Collingwood flag in Vic than to hold firm on foreign soil.

Interstate Pies fans should be applauded for their strength of character and resilience, not criticised or treated with suspicion. You should see what we have to endure in Adelaide.

...but I know you were only gagging. Thanks for your support.

Well done to all getting this up and running...I've been along to the old airport club to watch games in years gone by...Always been a great atmosphere and I loved the fact that the CFC faithful at that venue would start chanting 'Collingwood' and unashamedly sing the club song. I used to love seeing the looks on the Crows and Power supporter faces...Yes thats right boys and girls - we are everywhere, no escaping the Collingwood Army.
