Training today - Friday 11th November

well i went to my first pre-season session this morning. cant say there is a hell of a lot to report on obviously being so early on, but i have to say i was impressed with josh's body shape. we all know he lost a lot of weight last year due to that infection, but you could hardly tell now. his shoulders are probably the broadest i can remember, and he looks all-round terrific.

the others that also look a lot bigger are trav, rusling, harry and lonie (as he seems to every pre-season). licca and dutch also look great, and licca seems to have lost a bit of weight. the entire current squad was there bar tarrant, and the only 'extra' player training (ie. players not on our list) was tom davidson. no sign of travis baird.

pebbles, bucks and dids are all in FULL training, which was terrific to see. the 'rehab' group if you like (players restricted to handballing drills on the fence) consisted of burnsy, clement, harry, rhyce, tex, stretch, rusling and chad.

rhyce was in high spirits as always, and none of the above group seem to have any serious injuries, as each of them were diving all over the place and having a laugh. rhyce also mentioned on his way out to a supporter that he is hell-bent on being there for round 1.

from the kicking drills, players to impress were the usual - bucks and dids, plus heath, jules and wakelin. jules' kicking was superb, so lets hope this carries into 2006. pebbles also moved quite well in the ground drills, though obviously his fitness is very ordinary at this stage.

Yeah, good point - I was a little worried that the Cats might snap Davidson up due to family ties. He's obviously still keen on being part of the Pies & vice versa. Rookie list i hope!!
