IN LOVING MEMORY
In what has been a horrible weekend for the Collingwood Football Club they not only lost a game but they lost a great part of their heart & soul when Jack Carr lost his 9 year battle with cancer on Saturday morning.
Jack was as Collingwood as Collingwood gets.
And a damn fine man to boot!
In the past 45 years he had only missed 2 home games, 1 of which was to tragically attend the funeral of his son.
When Collingwood played, Jack played.
When Collingwood trained, Jack trained.
They loved him down at Lulie Street. There were no 'lock out' training sessions for Jack!
Sadly the CFC couldn't send off Jack in a way which befits the great man or in a way that he would've loved most - with a win.
I would like to make special mention of Paul Licuria who, with such an important game to play, spent most of the week by Jack's side. It meant the world to Jack.
On behalf of all Extremists & Woodsfolk everywhere I wish to pass on our condolences & best wishes to Jack's family & friends.
If the rumours are true & Jock McHale does coach a team up in heaven you can bet that Jack will be there on Monday morning watching them train!
