Don't blame the system, blame the prosecution. No one really knows what happened, because pretty much every witness had a different version of events. I'd prefer him to get off rather than be done in a kangaroo court. You never know, one day, you may be grateful for the same treatment!

You will all be pleased to know that the family, well Hookes estranged wife, is still suing in the civil court.
Citing "duty of care" that the bouncer had and did not obey.

I'm interested to see just how close we truly are getting to the USA system.

the jury can only decide guilty or not guilty based on the evidence they are given.... anyhow if it had happened to someone else other than Hookes you wouldn't be so sure the defendant was guilty.

Hilarious to hear all the armchair jurors and legal experts on Nick's leaping to the defence of that smart-mouthed arrogant piece of tabloid media filth.

Zdravko should be knighted for services to good taste.

ZDRAVKO: Please leave the premises.

SMART MOUTH: Do you know who I am?

ZDRAVKO: Yeah. You're Smart Mouth. Now f%*k off.

SMART MOUTH: I'll tell my radio show.

ZDRAVKO: No you won't ... biff

SMART MOUTH: _ _ _ _ _ _

ZDRAVKO ... 1
SMART MOUTH ... 0

Smart Mouth wasn't "murdered" actually.

In fact he wasn't even "man slaughtered" according to the courts.

Smart Mouth got in a blue and someone decked him ... just unlucky, I guess.

Anyway ... that'll teach him not to be a Smart Mouth.

We had the chance to make an example of and we failed, many thugs are still employed in the night club industry.

I agree that the night club industry is full of thugs.

But it's not the job of the courts to "make an example" of someone. It's their job to give the correct verdict in each individual case.

Zdravko M was on trial for a particular crime that HE was alleged to have committed ... he was not on trial for the general crimes of his profession.

exactly, and thats why the self defence claim is bulls%@t. If it was self defence what was he doing there in the first place? We can only assume that he followed hooksey out onto the street around the corner. If he didn't want to get into a fight and was just defending himself he should have stayed at the pub.
