hmmm... not the first time I've been referred to as a Nazi the last week or so.

I actually brought the apostrophe thread up because PEOPLE WERE USING THEM INCORRECTLY! I don't give a flying fish fillet if they DON'T use them, but if there are going to use them, they may as well do so knowing a little more about them.

I'm as common as a white commodore, the son of a poor mallee farmer. I rent @ 150 a week, bought a second hand car, have 2 and a half kids and my wife chases them around all day. Some elitist.

But hail to victory and all that, and see you at the rally in Nuremberg.

(Next day we will be in Warsaw in the morning, Vienna for lunch and tea is at 7.00pm in Paris. Bookings are essential. Call Frau Braun at reception on 696 666 extension 6.)

Capitalisation and grammar is the difference between, "I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse," and, "I helped my uncle jack off a horse."

lol good point.

Its also important to use the correct words.

For example, If jack was on a horse, would you help him off the horse .... sounds a lot better than....

If jack was on a horse, would you pull him off.

Who said he was sitting around!?

He's probably out all day building shelters for the poor, or volunteering for St John's ambulance!

...or down the pub...

Cam, your good-natured punctuation lesson was taken in the spirit intended and was not one of the antecedents of my harangue. As Joel pointed out, it was a separate thread and not one of the uninvited obnoxious grammatical critiques that have become a scourge on the board of late.

Here's a handy little tool to keep those mean old nasties at bay:

http://www.iespell.com/index.htm

It's a free app, which adds a spell checker to IE & its variants.
