Looks like K Rose will be challenged (and it's not me):

This site started last week and has been updated today.
Kevin Rose as whilst he has been a great servant of the club, at 65+ years of age, it's time for a youthful vibrant person to relieve Kevin.
Thoughts ?? |

What an absolute pile of shit.
Some pleb from a fansite is going to challenge a Collingwood legend in Kevin Rose.
I can hear the laughter eminating from the Lexus Centre already.
An absolute farce. |

I wonder if Percy Jones at the Blues had similar thoughts before Sam Schwartz defeated him.
Sam Schwartz was a "PLEB" too. It's a democracy remember ! |

There is nothing wrong with a person standing for a position that will become vacant, it is not about taking on a Collingwood legend it is about who will be best for the job in the time that they are appointed. To come out and call someone a Pleb just because they herrald a background of a Supporter from the internet smacks of small mindedness and an inability to recognise a persons right as a memeber to stand for a position if they desire to do so. All I see is someone putting up their hand to have a go as they feel that they may have something to contibute and is offerieng an alternate choice. If this person is committed to his/her cause and has the guts and ability to follow them through then why should he not be heard.
BTW, I have no idea who this person is, but I am proud to see that this great club has people who are willing to put up thier hand and give back to a club that has given so much.

There are many many members of our club out there who would have something positive to contribute
As a voting member, I for one would be very willing to listen to the views of a fellow member if he/she was a committed, legitimate challenger with well thought out arguments and a plan for implementation (even if they are not - they are still entitled to challenge - the Republic of Collingwood is still a democracy)
There have been and are issues with regard to members and especially our interstate breathen - perhaps this challenger has strong views regarding these issues and can offer a greater voice or input from us the everyday members - or they may just be a disgruntled pillock - let's wait and see what transpires before we write them off
Either way - I hope that Eddie does not see this as a challenge to him or a demeaning of what he and the Board have achieved off- field and respond as he did to the GF ticket balloting system questions during last years AGM
BTW I have no idea who this person is |

If this person is serious about being elected to the board, they better get their site updated pretty quick. The AGM is less than four weeks away and there isn't much time to impress the voters. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

What is your concern H? Is it the fact that somebody would challenge KR or do you consider anyone from the boards unworthy of challenging? _________________ Do not adjust your mind. The fault is in reality. |
