Assuming Farmer goes to Demons (apparently they are talking) leaving a vacancy

Leon Davis to Freo for round 1 (11)

Freo Round 1 (11) + McGough + Shaw for Ottens

Richards + round 1 (7) for Del Santo

Presti + round 2 for either B.Harvey or C.Bruce

Gain Ottens, Del Santo, Harvey/Bruce
Lose Davis, Richards, Presti

Possibly require some additional trading/ontrading for eg. O'bree, Lokan

Not actually a bad proposition, however the Richmond part wouldn't happen, Davis wouldn't attact that much and Melbourne/Roos may want a bit more too.

The problem with deals involving say three things going to one side (especially when two are considered 'hacks') and just one going to the other is the teams recieving three will have to make two extra delistings on top of whatever else they were getting rid of and still have room for draft picks etc. Most teams won't do that, they will won't as close to 1 for 1 as possible.

Richards an upgrade for the Saints on Knobel / Koschitzki? Hmm dunno about that one. Why would they bother?

Argh. Milne in a Collingwood guernsey... He would become the next Stephen Patterson on my list of Collingwood players I've hated.

Milne in a collingwood jumper... I dont think he would leave unless baker was leaving... Another trade could be Lokan for Montagna

If the Saints offered us Dal Santo for Richards and pick 7 you'd be absolutely nuts not to take it.

Sure Richards is a promising ruckman and pick 7 could turn out to be a very good player (although it really is a lottery) but Dal Santo has 10 years left in the midfield and imo is not too far off Judd as far as promise goes. Great hands, sublime skills, very strong over the ball and is a great decision maker.

The Saints would be mad to give him up but if they were to I'd give Richards and pick 7 in an instant.

This would be my ideal trade week scenario:

Richards + pick 7 for Dal Santo

Davis to Freo for pick 27

Pick 27 to Melbourne for Jolly

Shaw + McGough to Richmond for pick 20

Prestigiacomo + pick 20 for Harvey

INS: Dal Santo, Harvey, Jolly, Pick 27, Pick 20
OUTS: Richards, Davis, Prestigiacomo, Shaw, McGough, Pick 7, Pick 27, Pick 20.

Go from this squad:

Full Strength:
B: Clement Wakelin Cole
HB: Johnson Maxwell Woewodin
C: Davis Buckley Fraser
HF: Holland Rocca Didak
F: Lonie Tarrant Lockyer
R: Richards Licuria Burns
I: C.Cloke Prestigiacomo Davidson Rowe
E: Walker O’Bree B.Shaw

To this squad:

Dream Squad:
B: Clement Wakelin Cole
HB: Johnson Maxwell Woewodin
C: Dal Santo Buckley Fraser
HF: Holland Rocca Licuria
F: Lonie Tarrant Lockyer
R: Jolly Burns Harvey
I: C.Cloke Davidson Rowe Didak
E: Walker O’Bree J.Cloke

if we got dal santo i don't think we would need a harvey. trade presti and pick 23 to st kilda for dal santo instead of richards. then we don't need to let go of davis for jolly.

give richmond mcgough and pick 7 for their pick 4 and zantuck. after all we did give them pick 3 and king for mckee and pick 7 a couple of years back. time for them to return the favour Smile

'trade presti and pick 23 to st kilda for dal santo instead of richards'

Saints wouldn't do it. Richards would be more valuable to them than Presti and the difference between pick 7 and 23 is huge.
