Wirrapunda is overrated. Wins easy kicks in defence. Keep Leon, it will be worth the wait.

Wirrpunda would slot in well in our defence and free up Richard Cole to play further up the ground.

Tarrant is equally as valuable as Hall.

Hall kicks more goals, but Tarrant has more assists. Last season Tarrant led the league in scoring assists, with something like 40 goal assists. Combined with his 50 odd goals, he's producing around 100 goals from his position.

Zeke - that is exactly why Taz is NOT a FF and a true HF.

Your FF is not there for assists - the FF is there to CONVERT as he is your Power Forward.

Now Taz and Hall would be a very good combination - as will Taz and C2.

True, taz is not as effective as Hall in the FF position. But overall his worth is equal to that of Hall. His wish is to play more up the ground and i believe he is far more effective in this role. I'd rather have Anthony and C2 closer to goal. Alot of people say that Anthony should be played at CHF because of his big booming kicks. However he has seemed to lose a bit of distance and accuracy from this range this year. But that could be due to his injuries.

While i believe Taz is the equal of Hall, i didnt mean that we would be trading him for Hall, or would the swans trade Hall for Taz. Also note that taz has more years to develop then Hall as well, and will continue to get better.

Tarrant won't be a full forward. he will be (possibly) a wingman in rthe future. He could do it, but I wouldn't want it now.

Both players are super talents.

Hall has massive aerobic and running capacity for such a big bloke, super fast on the lead, splits packs, and converts very very well from anywhere in the 50. Leads the AFL in marks? Must be close to it.

Taz has massive aerobic and running capacity, has built himself up well upper body-wise (ala Lloyd), super fast on the lead, sensational and strong hands in the pack mark... only needs to fix the conversion rate, maybe the only thing that lets him down a bit.

You'd have to rate them both.

However, just imagine the scenario:

Hall

+ Wearing Black & White Jumper

+ AFL Video Review System

= 5 to 10 Years in maximum security wing.

You'd never see him out on the ground.

I'm pretty sure that Taz led the AFL in marking last year.

Oh, and he's much better looking. Love those arms!

Tarrant is now too heavy to be anything other than a key marking forward or back. His weight may have actually reduced his aerobic capacity. If you compare this year's Taz to last, in the games where he has dominated he has kicked goals from inside 50 and take strong marks rather than take 15 marks from half back to ff.

And he is going to be bigger again next yr! He will lose nothing by doing this. AFL players have a very high aerobic base anyway. This is to assist their recovery. Tarrant's efforts are anaerobic ie maximal sprints. B.Hall is exactly the same. Their training would be based on the fact that they cover less ground than midfielders but that most of their efforts will be shorter, more explosive movements. He is going to be a big unit!!

Frankly I don't think Taz is much of a FF. I never have. He is a very good athletic footballer but he is a poor kick for goal and is one sided. His one on one is not in the class of the best FF's. His technique is poor and he therefore gives away too many free kicks. The marks and for that matter the free kicks he does get are when he leads. The problem with his leading is it is sideways more often than not.

If Tarrant was a FF we would be 2002 premiers. He had two vital shots in the 3rd Q that a FF should get and he fluffed them. If that was an isolated incident I wouldn't read much into it but it isn't.

I am not saying Tarrant can't be used as a marking option up forward but I would much rather have a legitimate FF. Rocca can play as a legitimate FF and he can take pack marks. Taz can't take pack marks well enough. Cameron Cloke will be a CHF IMO. If we play Ant at FF and Cam at CHF, I would play Fraser as a flanker with license to read the play and run anywhere he wants (his only real strong asset) and Tarrant on the wing. He would have to train more as a runner to play on the wing but IMO he would be sensational. Given we will have forward options i wish Taz would ease up on the beach weights and do more running. He has the assets to be a great high marking, high possession wingman. He can help in the back half and drift forward. That gives us some height across the middle which we lack and a great kickout option. He would also add a bit to up the ground stop plays.

Oz, Perhaps if we had Cochrane representing him at Kangaroo Court, he'd get off with 2 years good behaviour.
