In response to my debut.I may be a "newbie" to this site but i have been a Collingwood supporter for a long time. Some players of today are over paid, over rated and don't play for our famous jumper and club.
Leon Davis, after the game against west coast in perth this year was asked why he played so well, his comment "back home".Pretty poor comment as far as i'm concerned.Where was your attitude for the other games especially the grand finals. We will go nowhere if we keep picking the same player's week after week year after year.
To me it seems that cq,bhpie, the prototype,johnson#26,rob8,vinnie vegas 69 and maggies2003 offer some interesting insights but the rest is mostly drivel.
And it's happening at the club and to the game.People are spinning drivel and not talking cold hard facts.Do we need to continually "mother" our players?where are our hard men?Do we have any? Time to get tough pies, build them up Mick show some mongrel and bring on 05. |

Mate, we are willing to read your opinions, but to come on here and tell people they are posting 'drivel', won't get you very far. You don't get respect in these place by just turning up and telling everyone your opinion, and then saying everyone is full of it. |

I read each of your posts, as i do with nearly everyone elses. i don't post frequently myself as i dont get a lot of time on the computer.
just like you, i've been a collingwood supporter for a long time. i agree with some of you're comments however not all of them. i reckon there is still alot of heart in the club, and many take pride in wearing the black and the white. but yeah there are SOME players that need to pull their finger out. i don't think this is a whole club issue though.
on your trade talk-
although cole makes mistakes, he has a lot of skill and more importantly, determination. he has the potential to become a good player.
tarrant is a hard one to judge. i would stick with him though.
obree has had a quiter year and could be used as trade bait.
we do have hard men. its a big squad. don't just pull out a few people that don't meet you expectaions and lose your hope in the whole club. we have potential, and i think we'll be a force to be reckoned with in a few years time. it won't happen straight away, but it will happpen. _________________ black and white...the past, the present and future |

Actually, the game you refer to re: Leon was against Fremantle.
Maybe a lot of posters do post drivel, but at least they have their facts right! _________________ Whale

Mate in all honesty, we at Collingwood have a tendency to idolize players who simply don't deserve it. Tarrant is a very good player, with the capability of becoming a champion. Till then, he is (as are most players in any squad) ALWAYS trade bait.
Don't miss a God for the sake of worshipping a Golden Calf.
PS. Bloody bible, i cant believe i remembered that from RE at school! _________________ I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks... - Eugene Debs |
