Realistically, that is.

Who should we aim at getting, and why do you think we should try to get them?

What positions do you think we need to fill?

I think we need to concentrate on a couple of things.

A Key Defender

a quick on baller - judd would be fantastic but every club would love him

and dont give away our first draft pick

A youngish key defender maybe. It really depends on what Mick has planned for The Clokes,Tex and Hall.

But a speedy midfielder is exactly what we need. Richard Tambling would be excellent for us. He has electrifying pace and a great goal sense.

I don't think we really even need a speedy midfielder. Just someone who can hit a target up forward and is hard at it.

I'd loom at Brent Moloney, Travis Johnstone and Matt Maguire. If we could 'lure' any of them we'd have done well.

I also like the looks of Shannon Byrnes from Geelong. Quick, agressive, skilled and smart. He is what we need. I saw him at the 2002 Preliminary Final when he played the curtain raiser for the Murrey Bushrangers. He is a special talent.

There are a few gyus at StKilda coming out of contract this year. Ball,Dal Santo and Maguire. And with the big edals signed by Hamill and Reivoldt they may not be able to match other clubs offers.

nobody. Judd is an exception ofcourse. Our list has great depth if you ask me. The younger players i.e. c.2, cole, johnson, fraser, mgough, richards, lonie, didak, rowe, walker are ageing well like a fine wine. The even younger players will get better next year.

If we need anyone it's a reliable key defender for the years after. Im sure one of these talls can become that. c1,c2,c3, hall, fanning, morrisson, walker, crow, maxwell.

He won't leave.

I think we need some pace in the midfield as well. It is something we has sorely missed over the last couple of years.

The backline is also a worry for me. We have a few potntial forwards in the mix, so hopefully we will be right with that.

Couldn't have put it better myself Freddie Foxx , I've been impressed by the performances of Nick Maxwell , Julian Rowe, Cam Cloke ,Dane Swan , Tom Davidson when they've had the opportunity .
Mullins & King may take a bit longer , but The shack must be getting close to borrowed time as he has yet to play a senior game .

Essentially we MUST continue with youth ( Judd is young ) .

I dont think many clubs whould be interested in Lokan but he could b handy as a sweetner to bigger trades.

If only Lokan could find the pill.He has great pace and a quite good left foot on him.He might be of some interest to one of the Adelaide clubs, but having said that, they already would of had a real good chance to have a good look at him from his SANFL days at Port.I reckon we should just stick at our youth policy with an eye for a key position defender and a quick midfielder.I realise that neither of these grow on trees ,but that's what we need.I reckon if we're going to trade we should do it for draftpicks. And by the way,Judkins would want to pull his finger out.How long should he be given to show some results like Stkilda and Geelong? And yes i am mindfull of the fact that we've made the last 2 grand finals and as a result have had lower draftpicks than the Cats and Saints.Has Judkins drafting been up to par?
