Unfortunatley Nuxta current scientific proof goes a long way to the destruction of the bible. Yes there are some nice sentiments in the Bible but nothing worse or nothing less. Consider the Bible a interesting piece of fiction with some nice ideas.
If you take it too seriously you will end with fundamentalism (and excuse the sloppy arguement) is never sensible. Believe in God and Jesus Christ the Messaih but dont take it to seriously. |

Tess in your argument that "all sins are equal", are you saying that for example the sins of a mass murderer or a rapist are just as equal in the eyes of God as someone who commits adultery or tells a fib?
I think you should be careful not to misinterpret whats being said here. The Bible mentions sins that are worse than others, referring to them as grave sins, and also some sins that lead to eternal or spiritual death. |

Fortunatley for us Christians there is massive evidence for a literal interpretation of genesis chapter 1 to 11. ie: the earths magnetic field is decaying to fast, galaxies wind themselves up to fast, 2nd law of thermodynamics just to name a few.

Tess I have been studying the bible translations issue for many years now and am firmly convinced the only translation we can trust is the AV1611 King James Bible if you would like to look at some very interesting books on the topic I can recomend some titles.

That verse you refer to Tess must be taken in context and if you were to read the whole passage it becomes clear the point was the man was trying to prevent the women from becoming pregnant and God was angry for it is He who opens and closes tha womb

Birdy you and Tess are both partialy right. Yes the bible does say there is sins that are worse ie:sexual sin as it is against your own body but it makes no distinction between consequence, they all attract the same punishment. There is only 1 unforgivable sin and that is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost

Most people have a wrong view of Christianity because of Catholicism..because that is the religion mostly associated with God thru TV, Dramas etc.. all of the shows I watch on TV, if they are going to a church, it will be a catholic church.
Catholicism is not Christianity.
Catholicism is a religion
Christianity is a belief
