Major League Baseball started the 2004 season with a double in Japan between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Game one was a decisive win to the Rays with an 8 - 3 scoreline. A disappointing result for the Yankees given the virtual all-star lineup they took into the game.

Game two saw the Yankees win 12 - 1 on the back of 7 great innings by new signing Kevin Brown. Japanese hero Matsui was named MVP although Jorge Posada managed two three run homers.

Only 160 more games to go!!
