The Bulls openers put on 85 before Clinton Perren went for 40, caught behind from Mick Lewis.
Stuart Law is at the crease with Maher (40 n.o.) and I don't think anyone would begrudge this man a century in his last first class match in Australia. _________________ Donny.

It'll have to happen in the second innings if it's going to happen at all as Law was out for 18, caught by Hussey from Cam White.
Bearing in mind The Bulls can get up to 510 and still have to follow on, Stuey may just get one more chance.
Maher is 57 n.o.
-------------------------------------
White strikes again. Simpson out for 8.
----------------------------------------------------
And again. White has 3/31. Hopes out for 5. 4/148. _________________ Donny.

What a top season Jonathon Moss has had and he's having a final to remember.
After making 98 in the Bushies first innings to pass 900 runs for the year, he has just come on to bowl and dismissed Maher with his 4th. ball. Maher made 72.
----------------------------
Go Mossy !! 2 overs, 2 maidens, 2 wickets. Hartley goes for a duck.
-----------
At stumps, It's 6/177. _________________ Donny.

Bulls crumbling in final
Fox
VICTORIA moved to within striking distance of victory in the Pura Cup cricket final by taking six Queensland wickets late on day three at the MCG.
Already assured of claiming their first first-class title since 1990-91 by posting a mammoth 710, Victoria took a giant stride towards a win after leg-spinner Cameron White's three wickets sparked a Queensland collapse of 6-72 just before tea.
Queensland finished the day at 6-177 with Martin Love 22 not out and Andy Bichel two not out, still trailing by 533.
Love, the Bulls' usual No.3, came in at No.6 after spending most of the day at the team hotel with a sinus infection.
Captain Jimmy Maher was out just before stumps, LBW in Jonathan Moss' first over, for 72 after almost four hours of resistance.
Moss then had Bulls wicketkeeper Chris Hartley (nought) out LBW in his next over.
White finished with 3-36 and Moss 2-2.
Although facing a mountain to get within sight of Victoria's total, Queensland were well-placed with openers Maher and Clinton Perren largely untroubled after Victoria was all out just before lunch.
But with the score on 85, Perren (40) got an edge to a Michael Lewis delivery and Victorian captain Darren Berry did the rest, completing a great one-handed catch by diving low and forward.
White then took two wickets in 10 balls, the first when Stuart Law (1 spooned a wide ball to David Hussey at cover and the second when Chris Simpson (eight) was out LBW.
White later took a third scalp when James Hopes (five) swept across the line and was also adjudged LBW.
Queensland must now survive another two days on a pitch that is starting to keep low and play slow to avoid defeat.
Berry kept his overnight promise and batted on this morning as the Bushrangers posted the highest score in a Sheffield Shield/Pura Cup final and the highest score in Australian domestic cricket in over 60 years.
Victoria's total overtook the 664 Queensland scored in the 1994-95 decider against South Australia at the Gabba and was the highest score in a state match since SA made 7(dec)-821 against Queensland in Adelaide in 1939-40.
Victoria's total included a century to Matthew Elliott (155) and six half centuries, including 62 to Ian Harvey today and 61 to Berry, the last Victorian out. _________________ Donny.

Will The Bushies perform the last rites today ? Will The demoralised Bulls dig deep and guts it out ?
I think we'll know by lunch how the day will pan out. Remember, The Bulls need 511 to avoid the follow on.
It will be difficult for them to take it into tomorrow with nothing hanging in the balance except for a few personal stats. Law is only a few from the 1000 runs for the Pura season and Love needs a big ton to get his. _________________ Donny.

Victoria will wrap this game up today probably one hour into the last session.

Love this. Says it all.Compliments of Cricinfo.
84.4 McDonald to Hauritz, OUT: leaves the ball, unthreatened by bat or pad it elects to run into off stump instead
Cricinfo is really waxing poetic today.

elected not to enforce the follow on and will daringly bat again' _________________ Do not adjust your mind. The fault is in reality. |

Victoria are crazy for not enforcing the follow on. I guess they really want to rub the QLD noses into the dirt.

It's payback time. The Bushies are treating the Bulls exactly the same way they treated Victoria in two home finals. _________________ Do not adjust your mind. The fault is in reality. |

What did the Vics have to gain from enforcing the follow on?
They might have given the Bull's the chance to bat for a day, maybe get a 150 run lead and then have the Vic's bat on a 5th day wicket.
Nah - get at least 500 a head and then have the Bulls bat on the last day (if a all).
Better to be safe than sorry in this case I reckon. |

Arnie smashes 3 sizes in a row off the bowling of Hauritz.....lmao
This is beautiful watching QLD (the home of Hohns and Buchanan) get belted all around the MCG.

They have now declared 575 to win
So QLD need around 5 runs per over.
One would think thats more than enough but mathematically QLD could get the runs.

The Bushies have declared at 1/140. Elliott remained 55 no. Hmmm, Personally,I would have batted on and given the Bulls no chance whatsoever.
Queensland require 576 runs off 111 overs to win. _________________ Do not adjust your mind. The fault is in reality. |
