Post subject: Where do we stand with Stevens?Reply with quote

Hello I was wondering if someone has the full story about Stevens.
Did scum get him because he had no choice?
Did Stevens sign I contract and if so for how long?
Is there a chance of us getting him next season under contract or not?
How does a contract work?

I must admit I haven't seen enough of Stevens to justifiy if we should've traded Didak for him or not. Or even if i'd like him in our team. Having said that I'm glad we kept Didak.

Theres been plenty of Collingwood fans i've talked to that don't use Nicks BB who say they can't beleave we kept him.

I'd be more interested on peoples views (and facts about those issues) from the FIRST paragraph.

Thanks,
Ian

Personally, I would have loved Stevens, however, I'm also rapt that we kept Dids. Didak didn't want to be traded anyway, and I see plenty of potential in him, as demonstrated in the last year's finals series.

personally i really dont give a ****, whats done is done.

of course he wil prolly be a star this year cos the blues are ****** hopeless and they wil always pass to him. good players in **** sides always look better than they would look in a good side, obviously because they stand out from the ****.

Did scum get him because he had no choice?

Essentially, yes.

Did Stevens sign I contract and if so for how long?

He would have signed a contract, but I don't know for how long. Probably two years.

Is there a chance of us getting him next season under contract or not?

If they want to trade him, yes, and if he is out of contract, maybe. Otherwise, no.

How does a contract work?

They are all different, and all contain different clauses. If both parties agree to it, then a contract can be broken. However, if one party breaches a contract then they are liable to pay some sort of 'compensation' to the party that has been breached.

Stevens signed a three year contract.

Did Stevens actually come out and say any-thing whilst the trade period was on?? If so, then what did he say?

I got Buckley and Stevens playing in my Dream Team, so at least they will be playing together somewhere.

Players are restricted in what they can say regarding the draft in case they leave themselves open to a charge of attempting to influence the draft process. Stevens is reported to have said he was always a Collingwood supporter and his club of preference was Collingwood.

I think that every time Stevens comes out of contract, he will be linked to the Pies due to the fact that he supported Collingwood as a kid so it is not as definite (Him playing for us) as some people say.

Stevens has signed a 4 year deal with Carlton, he has crossed to the dark side. Forget him.

If he really wanted to be a magpie then he would have made it clear to everyone, my recollection is that he waited till the Wednesday or the Thursday of trade week before he expressed to the media his desire to join us. This may not have changed the outcome (ala Rawlings), but I think he didn't want it enough, he seemd worried about being seen as the bad guy by all Port fans, silly boy! Rolling Eyes

As much as I would have loved Stevens at the pies I'm not losing too much sleep over it, we have plenty of fast midfielders, but forwards like Didak are mroe precious.

Port were stupid not trading him to us - we offerred them A couple of second stringers and a draft pick which their ageing list needs - it is going to be sooooooooooo good watching them cave in over the next few years.

Regardless of whether Stevens would have been an attribute to our team or not (and he certainly wasn't worth losing Dids for) - I will NEVER forget that Port chose to get absolutely nothing for Stevens rather than trade with us. As far as I'm concerned they deserve nothing more than that special little wooden spoon that I hope is waiting for them in their near future!!!!!!

GO PIES!
