Dave, the over count is a minimum 90 for the day.

With spinners operating, it may well come up before the scheduled stumps time. When that's the case, they play till stumps.

6/352 at stumps. Dilshan scored an excellent century.

Kasprowicz took 2/56 and Warne, 2/103.

The lead is 132 and it will require some real application from the Aussie batsmen to save this Test.

Going to be an interesting second inninges, to see if the Aussies can save this game, and post a reasonable target for the Sri Lankans to chase. I hope now that the Aussies have seen what this pitch can do they will go out there and not throw their wickets away like that did in the first innings.

I'm surprised MacGill hasn't got any wickets yet, I thought MacGill would of atleast had one to his name. Good to see Symonds and Gillespie have a wicket each. Poor old Warne has been a little expensive, though he has bowled 32 overs so I guess it's not too bad.

Warne shows MacGill what a champion is. One year out of the game and he picks up 5 wickets.

The selectors, Ponting and Gilchrist must be pleased that Warne is playing. All of them were saying Warne would have to earn his spot....BLAH BLAH BLAH

He did earn his spot, JLC.

In a Vic second XI game, an ING Cup and Pura Cup match for The Bushies and the 3 day warm up game in Sri Lanka.

He bowled very well in each of them to earn his place in this Test.

The Aussie openers look serious. And so they should be. There's a fair bit of pride to be regained after the first innings debacle.

They've knocked off 45 of the 161 lead in 14 overs. A long way to go but with every run scored without losing a wicket, things look better.

Hayden is the key for Australia batting wise.

I wouldnt expect much from Martyn and Gilly. Seeing Ponting can pick Murali a big score should be in order.....lol

Don't worry about my mate, Gilly, JLC. He'll be there when we're building up the lead.

It's 0/91 as Hayden goes past 50 for the 32nd. time in Test cricket. He's turned 17 of them into centuries.
------------------------------------------

Langer goes for 32. Trapped by Jayasuriya.

Going back to the Warne earning his spot issue. Ponting and Gilchrist were entitled to say what they did.

Undeniably great bowler that he is, he cannot expect to have his spot held for him.

Firstly he HAS had injuries in recent years that have started to impact on his bowling. Secondly and more importantly, his "time out" was due to his own misadventure and stupidity.

Therefore they, as senior team-mates, are entitled to expect him to have his shit together physically and otherwise if he was to return to the side.

1/121. Hayden is 67 n.o.

Of course we all knew Hades would have a good innings. JLC told us when he reached 52. Very Happy
-------------------------------------

1/143 and only 18 behind. Hayden is on 80 n.o. and Ponting, 23 n.o.
---------------------------------------------

Hayden moves into the 90s after tonking Murali for a big six.
----------------------------------------------------------

Australia in the lead by 4. Hayden is 94 n.o.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hayden calls for a run on 99 and Ponting is run out. Completely ridiculous.
