Looks like there is some rain heading towards Bellerive Oval, from where I am there is a dark cloud floating over.

Another wicket falls, BR Joseland c Clingeleffer b Marsh 51

Victoria are now 8/188

Victoria require another 124 runs with 4 wickets and 18.2 overs remaining

good bowling might see Tassie take the game out, they are going to have to bowl some good overs now to win the game. Hopefully the rain will stay away, the clouds over head are looking pretty dark.

10 overs remaing, Victoria need 100 runs at 10 an over, a draw looks very likely now. Unless Tasmania is able to bowl the Vics, out they need 4 wickets.

Bad light has stopped play, this is probably the end of the game, or close to it anyway. There's some very dark clouds hanging around, so I guess this game is going to get called very soon.

The match between Tassie and Victoria has been declared a draw, now if the Bulls win, Tassie won't take part in the Final, damn Tassie weather!

So, a whole season comes down to the last few overs for Tassie and NSW.

Tassie's chance of a win and safety was thwarted by the weather and now The Bulls are battling the same situation.

It's a bad light problem at the SCG but they're still playing. Bulls need 5 wickets.

Starting to look pretty unlikely that the Bulls will get 5 wickets with 10.3 overs remaining. So unless there is a major callapse I think Queensland might fail to make it to the Pura Final, well I hope they fail anyway Very Happy

Major collapse, mate.

Andy McDonald was to miss out on this game to fit Ian Harvey in. Harvey was a late withdrawal and McDonald played. He hit 51 n.o. and 8 n.o. and took 4 wickets in the first innings.

The other all-rounder, Jonathon Moss took 4 wickets in the second innings and was once out for 99 runs.

Brendan Joseland will probably make way for Harvey in the final even though he scored a run-a-ball 50 in The Bushies run chase today.

Mick Lewis looks like being the unlucky one to miss the final as his big hearted efforts have been part of the Bushies' success this season.

The other possible change could be Arnberger in for Mott or even Joseland retained and Mott dropped.

It's a shame someone has to miss out, some of these guys player pretty good, and deserve to play in the final. I'm glad I am not the one that has to pick the side. I still can't believe NSW's major collapse, sure they weren't going to play in the final but I thought they would of tried to keep the Bulls out. Maybe it Waugh's way of getting back at the Bushrangers? Instead of handing them Tassie to play, they would give them the Bulls.

Tigers miss out on cup final

Fox

TASMANIA were in shock tonight after being upstaged by Queensland at the 11th hour for a berth in the Pura Cup final against Victoria.

In what was hoped would be a taster of the end-of-season showdown at the MCG next week, the Tigers drew with the Bushrangers in the first-class clash at Bellerive Oval today after officials pulled the pin in fading light about 6.30pm (AEDT).

Runaway leader Victoria finished on 6-212 and needed an unlikely 100 runs off 10 overs to achieve their stated aim of a clean sweep of away games for the season.

The Tigers picked up two first-innings points after the visitors declared behind overnight.

A tense wait followed as Tasmania sweated on the result from the concurrent clash between Queensland and NSW at the SCG.

In a nail-biting finish, Queensland secured outright victory with just six balls to spare.

Although the result placed the Bulls on level pegging with the second-placed Tigers on 24 points, the Bulls charged into the final on quotient.

Tigers coach Brian McFadyen said there was stunned silence in the changeroom as the news came through.

"There was just silence for minutes and minutes," he said.

"It took a couple of Victorian guys to come into the rooms to change the mood, to be honest.

"I think we would have sat there for hours.

"It was devastating after what we believed has been a very good season all year.

"We fought like all hell and feel like we thoroughly deserve to have played off, but that's not the case.

"To miss out at the very last second is very devastating".

Victorian captain Darren Berry said while he felt professional empathy for Tasmania, he wasn't fussed who the Bushrangers played in the final after finishing 16 points clear of the competition.

"It has happened to us in 1999. We were in the final and then we got kicked out in a similar manner, waiting on another game," he said.

"Sport is brutal at this level. There will be a lot of devastated blokes in there and I do feel for them."

The Tigers were riding high earlier in the day when the Bushrangers were a shaky 4-83 heading into the home stretch at tea.

The sixth-wicket stand of allrounder Jonathon Moss and debutant Brendan Joseland added 73 before Joseland was caught behind off skipper Dan Marsh for a respectable 51.

It was Marsh's second scalp of the day after he captured David Hussey in front for three.

Left-arm paceman Andrew Downton also took a double including Brad Hodge (7) on the opening ball of his first over and the coveted scalp of opener Matthew Elliott for 34.

Moss went on to post a top-scoring 77 not out.

The Tigers had declared at a generous 9-222 after lunch to set a target of 312 for victory off a minimum 65 overs.

Strapping allrounder Shane Watson played a starring role for the Tigers, posting his fourth ton of the season off 100 balls neat with 13 fours.

He slapped two sixes en route to a top-scoring 117 before being snared by Moss, who finished the innings with the fine figures of 4-60 off 14.

Man-of-the-match Watson was a tantalising 17 shy of 1000 first-class runs for the season, with now no chance to add to his tally in Melbourne.
