NZ recall one-day veteran
From correspondents in Dunedin - Fox
NEW ZEALAND's most-capped one-day international, Chris Harris, has been handed a surprise recall for the fifth one-dayer with South Africa on Saturday.
Just when it seemed his 238-match career was on the skids at just one wicket short of the 200 milestone, the 34-year-old Harris was today included by coach John Bracewell in a 13-man squad otherwise unchanged from that used for the first four matches.
The reasoning is the prospect of another slow, low drop-in pitch at Auckland's Eden Park which caused both sets of batsmen problems during the first match which South Africa won by five wickets.
"Over the years Chris' bowling has proven effective on these slower types of wickets," said Bracewell in a statement.
"Once we have a chance to look at the wicket a decision will be made on whether Chris will be required in the starting XI."
Harris last played for New Zealand in the fourth one-dayer against Pakistan in Rawalpindi last December then was dropped for the home series with Pakistan.
He has scored 4250 one-day international runs at average of 29.5 and taken a New Zealand record 199 wickets at 37.05, with an economy rate of 4.3.
The squad:
Stephen Fleming (captain), Michael Papps, Hamish Marshall, Scott Styris, Craig McMillan, Chris Cairns, Jacob Oram, Brendon McCullum, Daniel Vettori, Kyle Mills, Daryl Tuffey, Michael Mason, Chris Harris. _________________ Donny.

Match called off due to rain
The Wisden Bulletin by Rahul Bhatia
Rain stopped barking and finally took a bite out of the series, with the fourth one-dayer in Dunedin being called off, and a replay scheduled for the next day. The replayed game will be a day game that begins at 12pm local time (11pm GMT).
Play looked likely for a while when Graeme Smith won the toss yet again and put New Zealand in to bat. But rain washed the ground minutes before play was to begin. South Africa had their fourth success with the coin, but the rain ensured that there would be another toss tomorrow.
South Africa's inability to use the conditions – and the form of a rejuvenated New Zealand side – has resulted in two losses on the go. New Zealand's victory in the third ODI came after the bowlers pegged back South Africa during the middle overs, and even inspired batting by Shaun Pollock could only take his team to the precipice of victory. An injury sustained during the game kept him out of today's team, and Lance Klusener was his replacement.
For New Zealand, the third match was an eye-opener. Michael Papps showed everyone what the fuss was about when he scored his first fifty and played a vital role in giving his team its first significant start of the series. And then their bowlers caged the batsmen. South Africa's bowlers, barring Pollock, were made ineffectual and they failed to live up to the reputation that preceded them to New Zealand. It was a U-turn from previous expectations.
Daryl Tuffey, down with an injury, was replaced by Michael Mason. Incidentally, this was the first change New Zealand made this series.
New Zealand 1 Michael Papps, 2 Stephen Fleming (capt), 3 Hamish Marshall, 4 Scott Styris, 5 Craig McMillan, 6 Chris Cairns, 7 Jacob Oram, 8 Brendon McCullum (wk), 9 Daniel Vettori, 10 Kyle Mills, 11 Michael Mason.
South Africa 1 Graeme Smith (capt), 2 Herschelle Gibbs, 3 Jacques Kallis, 4 Boeta Dippenaar, 5 Jacques Rudolph, 6 Mark Boucher (wk), 7 Lance Klusener, 8 Nicky Boje, 9 Albie Morkel, 10 Makhaya Ntini, 11 Andre Nel. _________________ Donny.

N.Z. are 0/27 in the 7th. over.
----------------------
0/55 after 12. Fleming is 32 from 35 balls and Papps, 23. Nel has been expensive with 0/40 from 6 overs.
-------------------------------------------
After 36 overs, N.Z. is 2/177 with Marshall on 55 n.o. and Styris, 37 n.o. Fleming made 51. The ask is 5.93 r.p.o. to win.
----------------
Two quick wickets have the game balanced. Marshall (74) and Styris (69) went within 7 balls and the ask is 30 from 33 balls.
------------------------------------------
An excellent wicket maiden from Ntini was good for S.A. but two mighty sixes from Cairns make it 13 needed from 19 balls.
--------------------------
Comfortable in the end. N.Z. win by 6 wickets and take the series 3-1.
Cairns finishes with a six into the suburbs. He hit 29 from 22 balls. _________________ Donny.
